My three-year-old asked for a "really big dinosaur"--and held his hand about three feet in the air--for Christmas. What's the biggest non-scary and affordable toy out there? Stuffed would be ok. I've seen some pretty large stuffed toy dinos.

My suggestion would be the soft Bullyland dinosaur models.  They are made to look like the smaller plastic models but they are really, really big and made out of a soft foam material.  Here's a few links for you:

Here are some other ones made by some other company:

Here is your best bet:  This ebay seller from the Orient has a bunch of giant softplay dinos that would be EXACTLY what your son is looking for.  If the meat-eaters are too scary, check out this Triceratops:

Hmm, for a three-year old, and if it should be really big (and cuddly) - what about this one:

Kota the Triceratops with animatronics effects. :) A little expensive, though. :-\

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a T-rex by Krentz? My friends all have Sideshow, I must make amends.

Jetoar

You could buy a Bullyland soft dinosaurs. They are big, softs very cool  ^-^.
[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?
