Hello! My name is Heather but on here I figured I would go by Duckweed. Duckweed was the name of my very first dinosaur toy when I was little -- a plushie parasaurolophus. She has gone through many drawings/markings and short stories -- even a stint in an RPG when the DM allowed us to pick dino companions! I worked on models and such with my dad when I was smaller but I never really got to involved in the collecting side. I have a couple JP figures but that's really it. I read the Dinotopia hardcover books, and the novels, as much scifi dino stuff I could fine, and.. and.. overall nothing to serious.

But then.. then I came across the Papo Allosaurus in a Hobby Lobby of all places. It's so beautiful. I could not help it. And now I've got the 'itch'.. and have started pulling up skeletons and trying to improve anatomy so I could draw the images in my head.

I am a recent college grad from the University of West Florida with a degree in Anthropology. I currently live deep in the heart of Texas and I am seriously considering becoming a life science high school teacher. WHO KNOWS. But I am here now. Let's see where it goes.

My favorite types of dinos tend to be Hadrosaurs/duckbills. I like a couple others but that is in very specific cases, like the Allosaur.

Welcome Duckweed, glad to have you join us. I have always liked the duckbills myself, mostly due to the seemingly endless types of skulls associated with them. One of my favorite fossils is a duckbill egg ! Welcome to the forum and nice to meet you.
Authors with varying competence have suggested dinosaurs disappeared because of meteorites...God's will, raids by little green hunters in flying saucers, lack of standing room in Noah's Ark, and palaeoweltschmerz—Glenn Jepsen

Salutations, Duckweed! As a hadrosaur fan, I think you'll find yourself in good company here - though I myself have only one duckbill in my entire collection  ;D

At any rate, welcome to the DTF, home of all things plastic and prehistoric. The Papo Allosaurus is indeed a well-known gateway dinosaur  :))
