I'm going to guess the Carnotaurus has big arms out of fear that people would easily break them if properly sized with the joints.

But I don't work on the design team, so that beats me.

God, it looks beautiful!

I don't wat to replace my original JWFK toy, as I am very fond of it. But dear lord this HC is to die for.

Agh! This would have been so much easier if they had done the dominion version first! That way they could both co-exist...

Also, why BBTS has not put the HC Owen and Blue for preorder yet? It has been weeks since their reveal. Not like I want to buy them (I said I may get Owen, but I can live without him), but the fact that they are not there makes me worried for future releases...Again.

Giganotosaurus

How big do we think this Carno is compared to the original Fallen Kingdom figure?
Mosasurus on Jurassic Mainframe and JPToys
Angurius on TohoKingdom

I love all the Jurassic movies, plus Disney's Dinosaur

In-hand picture of the Tuojiangosaurus. Credit: Collect Jurassic. Decent sculpt and colors and the action feature as seen in the review video posted above but the only downside for me is the size. By looking at it, I think it's about the same size as the Miragaia.

New minis! Definitely interested in getting the new ones! Geosternbergia, Sinotyrannus and Kaprosuchus.

avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy Thanks for sharing here. Definitely interested in those two sets as well. I'll get these added to the op tomorrow. By the way, I noticed BBTS had the Kaprosuchus in stock like yesterday in case anyone else wants that one.

Prehistory Resurrection

The only review I found in which this figure is compared to the other stegosaurs from Mattel; the comparison is at 08:04 in the video.

Carnotaurus is a dinosaur I'm very fond of, and this figure is quickly becoming one of my favourites of the genus. I like how this $35 toy's paint scheme is superior to the supposed "premium" collector statue at 3 times the price. The oversized arms are painfully obvious though...

A shame this new size range wasn't introduced earlier. Would've been perfect for the Triceratops and Parasaurolophus! Though on the other hand, maybe this also opens up the opportunity for a 2.0 version of those two lackluster HC herbivores?

So apparently Andy got it early from Amazon. Here's the link (though currently out of stock):

This is the definitive Jurassic Carnotaurus action figure (albeit the oversized arms, but the rest is gorgeous). It's incredible how much detail the head has, and the paintwork is right on point (well except the bottom jaw, which should be colored more of the same as the top jaw, as far as the cgi goes, but on the other hand it is more reminiscent of the maquette used, much like the original 2018 figure that resembled it, see below images).

I wonder if it can be posed to resemble the sitting posture in the JWE2 game? I just love how it looks when it is doing that, lol. It's so adorable.

Just watched Andy's review on this HC Carno and I must say I'm impressed. The first thing that stood out to me was the paint app, which is really close to what the movie showed. The skin integument and how they made the effort to add all the different sized bumps is quite spectacular. The teeth were the other thing that surprised me - Mattel can do smaller, non-goofy-looking banana teeth!

Definitely looking forward to what other species they release in this size range. I imagine Allosaurus, Suchomimus and Stegosaurus would fit... Those who are more familiar with JP/JW IP and HC models, what do you reckon?

I echo the comments about the Carnotaurus.   A surprisingly impressive figure.  Sort of a poor man's BOTM figure quality.  It's even spot on 1/18 scale.   A quick fix for the arms could be to pull the whole arm out and just use the forearm as the entire arm and glue it into the arm's socket.  Rather inelegant but at least more accurate (to the real animal if not to the JP version).

When in 2024 is it to be released?

I reckon Allosaurus and Sinoceratops aren't far behind considering how often they interact with Carnotaurus in the franchise.

I had the same thought  :))

well it's clear you're very clever.   :)

A @andrewsaurus rex Target says the Carnotaurus is coming out 1/7/2024.

Also, if you're stateside, pull the TIN number from the Target page and check Popfindr, odds are, you'll be able to get it a few weeks before the shelf date. ;)
