Quote from: SenSx on December 04, 2024, 07:31:10 PMYes but honestly I really blame the lack of good promotional images for the green, that is why I was begging to get some, I did not want to spend so much money without beint absolutely sure of what I was getting.
Also the green isn't bad by any means, it's probably the most natural of all the color variations, it is just lacking complexity in the application.
I was wondering if an improvement was possible instead of a complete repaint, maybe with a pro artist like dinosaur_model_artwork in Europe.
Your description of the grey version with some sort of cracked scaled skin you would expect on an old animal is really on point.

I have already a good connection with Dinosaur Models Artworks and actually have talked to him about this possibility. He has done some really amazing repaints of Haolonggood figures for me, including a full repaint of the Haolonggood Alamosaurus in the style of the PNSO.

I actually wonder if this is possible to improve some of the accuracies of the figure, like adding some sort of bump at the top of the tail like Argentinosaurus is supposed to have, and removing the teeth and make new ones in number, closer to each other and smaller.
But the mouth might not be accessible enough, and even a pro artist could refuse such a redious commission.
I do tiny sculpting adjustments like the kind you speak of on most of my figures lol, I'm actually working on curving the horns on the frill of my HLG sinoceratops right now

Beautifull pair of sausages with legs, can't decide which one I like better.

A bit concerned about the long-term stability due to their posture though...

This is definitely a concern. The first image posted led me to believe they came with some sort of display base but that doesn't seem to be the case. I'm sure a spare PNSO rod would do the trick but the question is whether or not one is gonna work with this particular figure...

I remember that vampiredesign at some point mentioned that Haolongood uses some sort of different reinforced plastic material for the feet of theropods which would not warp over time. Check his older posts, probably in the Haolonggood New for 2023 thread.

Rayeknor

Hopefully they did that or a internal skeleton for the Argentinosaurus, at 5kg it will warp over time if not the case.

Majungasaurus up on Amazon now: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DPMBYQ8H?th=1

Both versions look really nice. I'm almost tempted to get both... but funds and space snap me back to reality! ;D

Pinbacker

I went with the blue Majungasaurus...but I really like the red one as well. They both have a lot of complexity in their paint schemes.

Finally I got to taking pictures of my Haolonggood Utahceratops, which show the glassy molten looking areas of the surface. Where this is present, it largely obliterates the grainy scaly texture of the surface.

One can clearly see how this is only present in some areas whereas others look fairly normal.

Pinbacker

My 001 Argentinosaurus is scheduled to arrive on Monday...I'm excited! I worked on clearing some space on my display this afternoon.

Very nice indeed; the dinosaur's expression above the 'premium quality guaranteed' gave me a chuckle (in a good way!).

Turkeysaurus

Styracosaurus is getting red-headed stepchild treatment.

Truly the sausage that walks. Almost hilariously impressive.

Carnoking

Yup, definitely getting these!

Tattu

They're soo teeny tiny! I love that we now finally have a proper 1:35 representation.

Patrx

Honestly, these are kind of adorable! Probably not what they were going for, but I like them.

I'm usually a little more on the fence with Haolonggood's theropods but they really nailed this species! Lovely sculpt, though the proportions make me wonder how well it actually stands in person.

ceratopsian

We'll soon find out. My brown/yellow should be here in a week or so!

Sim

I'm not getting the Majungasaurus as I'm not interested in the species, but I have to say both versions look great, in different ways.  I'm very impressed by them.  I think I prefer the brown one.

Turkeysaurus

How do you feel about proportions of majungasaurus? Is it accurate enough?
