Neat to see those old Battat and Favorite figures being brought back from the the past, if not quite the dust bin of memory, avatar_Elengassen @Elengassen .

They still hold up pretty well!

Glad you were able to get the Einiosaurus during the short window it was available!

And whose eggs are the Adasaurus pair pilfering?

I wasn't actually, that was a lucky eBay find  ;D
I actually got lucky twice with this figure; the other one is now in my sale/trade thread.

That's a 3D-printed dinosaur nest by mb-cg from  Shapeways. I've posted it before in my repaints thread.

Hell Creek Formation (USA), c. 1:25 scale

  • Ankylosaurus (PNSO)
  • Anzu (Safari)
  • Champsosaurus (Safari Toob)
  • Edmontosaurus annectens (PNSO)
  • Leptoceratops (Safari)
  • Pachycephalosaurus (PNSO)
  • Quetzalcoatlus lawsoni (Safari)
  • Torosaurus and baby (PNSO)
  • Tyrannosaurus (Rebor)
  • Hatchling Tyrannosaurus (BOTM Forest Accessory Pack hatchling)

This is the only formation in my collection that has a shelf all to itself – I guess living alongside T. rex is a good way to get made into a figure.
Although it's pretty well filled-out already, I'm still planning to add a few more figures to this display, including Ornithomimus and a juvenile T. rex.
Also, there's one glaring omission, namely Triceratops. It might have been nice to include one, but at this point I don't think there's enough space on the shelf  ::)

Tyrannosaurus definitely has long coattails. I keep hoping someone will make a Thescelosaurus. There are some 3d prints, but I don't usually resort to those for dinosaurs.

There's a 3D-printed Thescelosaurus? I wasn't aware of that, where can I find it? I'm happy to resort to 3D prints for dinosaurs, especially for smaller-sized figures, so that would be ideal for me.

Dinosaur Park Formation (Canada), c. 1:25 scale

Technically I was wrong in my last post – the Dinosaur Park formation also has a shelf all to itself. However, I don't really count this, as it's divided into 2 distinct parts: Lower/Middle and Upper.

Lower/Middle Dinosaur Park Formation (76.5-75.5 mya)

  • Centrosaurus (PNSO)
  • Corythosaurus (PNSO)
  • Parasaurolophus (PNSO)
  • Baby Parasaurolophus (Kaiyodo)
  • Stenonychosaurus (3D print from Wild Past)

Upper Dinosaur Park Formation (75.5-74.4 mya)

  • Dromaeosaurus (3D-printed dromaeosaurs from Shapeways)
  • Lambeosaurus (PNSO)
  • Stegoceras (3D print from Shapeways)
  • Styracosaurus (PNSO)
  • Vagaceratops (Safari)

The dromaeosaurs are a bit large for 1:25, more like 1:18-1:20, but I'm just considering them unusually large individuals. Some of the other species might be a tad small, but this doesn't bother me – they can always work as subadults or smaller individuals.

A break from formation displays: here's my entire BOTM collection as it currently stands.

Buitreraptor:

Guanlong:

Microraptor:

Zuniceratops:

I have a few others on my wishlist, mostly also smaller-sized ones; I don't have the money or space to get into collecting the large ones.

There's this one, although I think you'd have to print it yourself. https://www.artstation.com/marketplace/p/a1AvN/thescelosaurus-neglectus-statue-for-3d-printing

There may be others, I'm not sure!

Thanks! Too bad I don't have a 3D printer. I am planning to get one some day though, so this may come in handy eventually!

Finally some Triassic!

Chinle Formation (USA), c. 1:40 scale

  • Desmatosuchus (Schleich)
  • Machaeroprosopus (Safari Toob Rutiodon)
  • Postosuchus (Safari Toob)

I'm also experimenting with putting my Safari Deinonychus on my Hell Creek shelf as Dakotaraptor:

It's probably slightly too big to be in scale (and of course, we don't know whether Dakotaraptor actually looked like this), but I feel it works nonetheless. This might end up being temporary though.

I think you mean the unnamed Hell Creek dromeosaur, for which Dakotaraptor is an invalid name.  :P

I wasn't aware it was now invalid  ???

Edit: found this thread which explains the situation in more detail for anyone interested.

Dakotaraptor is not an invalid name, it's a dubious genus with possibly chimeric elements. Keep in mind dubious and questionable does not always equal invalidation unless the ICZN says so!

Halichoeres

The Triassic is my favorite period of the Mesozoic. Hard to find things for it in 1:40 scale!

I always loved the strange mouth of that Schleich Desmatosuchus!

Elengassen

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres compared to the Jurassic and Cretaceous, yes! Aside from my Chinle display I do have a small Triassic 1:40 collection, although the others don't fit into a formation display:

avatar_Libraraptor @Libraraptor yes, some of the old Schleichs have quite cartoony faces – that one's not the worst of them though!

Woah, where'd you find the mini bullyland plateosaurus?

Quote from: crazy8wizard on October 07, 2024, 05:52:51 PMWoah, where'd you find the mini bullyland plateosaurus?

I've had it since childhood – Bullyland was widely distributed in Europe in the early 2000s.

I actually have a second one, feel free to send me a PM if you're interested  ^-^
