avatar_DavidJamesArmsby @DavidJamesArmsby Well that's one way to test if it works correctly lol. ::D Glad there's at least some of them out there without this issue.

New minis of Apatosaurus and Metriacanthosaurus, I think?
I don't collect the minis but I don't remember seeing them before.

Oof, not worth the effort with replacements then. Hopefully there's another attempt at flying/standing pterosaurs soon enough.

Good to see there's at least one that works avatar_DavidJamesArmsby @DavidJamesArmsby. Think I'll at least wait for it to be on sale rather than pay full price like I was planning to do.

Blade-of-the-Moon

Mine wasn't so bad either. It's been standing on my shelf for a few weeks now with no issues.

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin Oh sweet, then they are a reissue of a much older release? People should be happy with that, then.

i saw a reddit thread about the Quetz wing opening problem and some on the thread had the problem with their figures and others didn't.

I opened mine today and love it.  So far no wings popping open, fingers crossed.  If it's an issue i will krazy glue them in the perched position.  I plan to get another one anyway to display in flight as i want both configurations on permanent display.  The in flight one i'm going to display next to my 1/18 Supermarine Spitfire which has the same wingspan...

I hope we get a big, proper looking Quetz (ie non rebirth) in the same size and same features...maybe an HC?  The rebirth one i'm using as Hatzegopteryx.

Probably not going to happen, but since Mattel is open to doing more multi-part assembled complex minis now (e.g. Dreadnoughtus, Titanosaurus), I hope they'll revisit the Apaatosaurus and Brachiosaurus minis some day with the same idea.

Also, new review on some of the new Rebirth minis. Seems the Titanosaurus is locked behind an advent-calendar paywall still.

I bought two myself so as display both ways.

Not sure how they will do an hc quetz? Gonna be interesting.

andrewsaurus rex

you don't think they'll do an HC Quetz?  I don't care if it's HC, just want them to make a Quetz like the Rebirth one in size and wingfolding concept that looks like an realistic Quetz.

crazy8wizard

I can tell you for certain that making pterosaur figures with accurately folding wings is very difficult. There isn't really any material out there that can accurately replicate wing membrane without being really fragile, bunching when folded, or creating sharp angles when folded. The closest I've seen to a figure that gets it right is the SH Monsterarts Singular Point Rodan, and even that is really clunky looking when folded.

what they've done with the Rebirth Quetz is fine by me.  I know it's not perfect but it's not bad, and it is a toy afterall, so there is some tolerance for that.  Also, if you willing to glue the wings they can be heated, bent and glued into a better position; not perfect but better.

I like how they've done the Rebirth Quetz and i could probably wait until i'm a hundred and still not see an accurate figure of a Quetz that size, with folded wings.

Noideaforaname

A functioning Rebirth Quetz would be perfectly fine. A retooled version that replaced the spring-loaded gimmickry with normal joints would be even better (the only addition I'd make is for the head to be able to move side-to-side).

The cloth wings maybe look a bit cheap/toyish compared to Hammond Collection figures, but I'd much rather deal with that than plastic membranes that either have a bunch of seams or flat out disintegrate.

Some quicks snapshots I took yesterday, to join in on the HC Spino fun:

And a few comparison shots:

With the Extreme Chompin' Camp Cretaceous Spinosaurus. Even with the obvious advancements in design, the two make a pretty cool pair. Sadly, it appears the base neck joint in my CC/EC Spino has broken in storage, so it can no longer hold its head up at all. It looks like I'll be outright replacing it with the HC now.  :(  You were loved very much, EC Spino.

With Rexy, also from the HC line. It figures, I was just thinking how I'd like a bull rex for this line with all the latest improvements. I guess we're getting half that, maybe.  :-\

With the Mesozoic Life Project Spino - two drastically different takes on the dinosaur, both utterly gorgeous in their own rights.

I'm gonna have to futz with the Stego's feet a bit, since one is always off the ground for some reason.

Incidentally, it's quite good at standing on its hind legs.

Now that I have the adult for comparison, that baby stego is... not so good.

andrewsaurus rex

that Stego looks pretty good.  One of HC's best.

Added the SDCC exclusive and the SC Atrociraptor to the op. Anything else missing at this point in time?

Edit: Not related, but came across this post on reddit where someone made an articulated jaw for their new HC (adult) Stegosaurus, along with a guide for how to do it:
