That last Argentinosaurus could have been mine. I reserved the purple 001 model with Everything Dinosaur but got impatient and ordered it from Aliexpress. When Everything Dinosaur got it instock they emailed me and I told them I aquired the model from somewhere else and they should sell it on to someone else.
I'm glad my little orphan dino found a new home!

UK courier shipping was £7.99.

Ended up being £249 + shipping. So ED's inital estimate of £240-£260 was fairly accurate.

Quote from: BlueKrono on January 27, 2025, 01:54:39 AMSeeing this sell out at a major retailer like Everything Dinosaur finally made me pull the trigger on this one. I don't even want to think about what it would cost on the resellers market.

Completely sold out on Minizoo too. Happy Hen and Dans still has them in limited numbers I beleive.

Dan's ended up being $22 more expensive than Lana Time, and Happy Hen was $136 more expensive!

I can see Dan having a slight markup, he had shipping to consider unless it was drop shipped from Lana or the factory. I'm not sure why HH is so popular, they seem pretty expensive 99% of the time unless they are having a good sale?

I've usually seen average or better prices from HH and have always had good experiences with them. The biggest advantage is not having to pay international shipping, plus I can get my annual allotment of extant animals from them. Btw, does anyone know what country Lana Time ships from?

It probably will. It'll honestly probably just sneak into frame every once in a while regardless if I intend it to because of how big it is! XD

Turkeysaurus

Argentinosaurus cost me around 315 dollars total. (I had 15 dolar discount but also cost 10 dollar bank fee)

That's equal to half of the minimum wage per month  in my country.  :o

I guess you refer to tariffs imposed by the new US government?

Yup. 25% from anything coming from China, to start.

According to the BBC, it's only 10%...25% is only for Canada and Mexico

Turkeysaurus

Hold on If 10% then, how much now?

BlueKrono

I don't have the source that said 25% in front of me, but in either case it's frustrating as a collector. There's a lot more I want to say, but in keeping with the rules of the forum mum's the word.

We here in the UK pay 20% VAT on all imports and on the postage (a very very few things are exempt or attract a lower rate). I'm used to adding 20% at the payment stage on AliExpress, as purchases are taxed at source. You do get used to the idea that there is an extra cost involved in buying abroad, if that's any comfort. For us it's worse if the item is not taxed at point of purchase, as customs impose on top of the tax a handling charge of around £12. Though some items slip through.
