These are pretty bad. Especially that glyptodont.

Although I'm glad when anyone decides to manufacture Cenozoic mammals, there being such a dearth of then around, I can't help wishing that they didn't duplicate the genera tackled by TNG and Eofauna. There are so very many others around that could have been sculpted. The big issue, as far as I'm concerned, is that their products, though welcome, go head to head with the TNG and Eofauna ones, which have sharply better production values. If they'd avoided direct competition, then I'd be far more interested, even if the quality wasn't quite as good as the others.

Thanks, avatar_Prehistory Resurrection @Prehistory Resurrection . It seems that the supplier doesn't deliver to Canada at present, but I'll check into this further.

Saarlooswolfhound

I bought the "dire" wolves, smilodon, and mammoth- I am very curious to see what they're like in person.

Would you be able to post the images, avatar_Saarlooswolfhound @Saarlooswolfhound , when they land on your doorstep? I seem to be in "dire straits" and am unable to acquire images from the Amazon website. If possible ... .

Oh I intend to! Not sure I will buy them all (for reasons others have described above) but I will definitely post my thoughts and some pics of the 5 I ordered and any others I decide to grab.

I've been looking at the Deinotherium for a bit now. I like that they depict a more elephantine-like trunk, but not the interpretation of the incisors piercing through the skin rather than still being in the mouth. However now that I'm realizing it's only $10, I might even pick up the Paraceratherium as well.
I agree with others in wishing they at least tackled different genera than what's available. There are plenty of options for both Deinotherium and Woolly Mammoths, the outdated reconstruction of the trunk on the former being the *only* thing it has going for it.

Definitely not going to displace the TNG Elasmotherium, is it.

STORMnlNIJMEGEN

is it only on Amazon our also on other sellers?
The Return Of The Mammoth's

Nehalennia

Appreciate the effort at creating Cenozoic animals, but these look rather low effort to be honest - like 90s budget toys. That Glyptodont is all over the place.

As far as I can see, Amazon only through Gemini & Genius. I ordered mine on 3/2, they aren't expected until 3/22-4/22 which makes me think they are being imported from China, and haven't shipped just yet. But I will update once I have them in hand (again, I ordered the mammoth, smilodon, and 3 "dire" wolves). I am curious to see their material and paint quality etc.

At least for now, the only other ones I would be quite interested in are the daeodon and dunkleosteus. The others just don't really stand out to me but that might change...

Was just notified they shipped and are expected to arrive Monday.

Saarlooswolfhound

They arrived today!

Naturally, being a wolf enthusiast and prehistoric mammal nerd I took a chance. These are interesting figures IMO but probably not of the quality/scale many prefer. I started out with their "dire" wolves, smilodon, and mammoth; I may get a few others too later on. But here is the rest off Amazon for anyone interested: https://a.co/d/eLGDWRp

Overall, they're big, hefty, and are quality made toys. Not in the detail or finish range of TNG, PNSO, etc. But are pretty cheap for their size. The wolves are clearly wonky and there is nothing "dire" about them besides the little one has dwarfism, the male needs a sandwich stat(!), and the female looks like a gaudy Halloween decoration. The mammoth and smilodon I quite like though (I wish the smilodon was about half the size though).

I will provide a closer analysis later on but this is it for now.

SidB

Thanks, avatar_Saarlooswolfhound @Saarlooswolfhound , that's quite useful. I'm particularly interested in anything that's roughly in the 1/32-1/35 range, so the mammoth might be a candidate, do you think?

Saarlooswolfhound

I am pretty hopeless when it comes to scale, but I'd ve happy to take some measurements for you. Do you just need height and length or what other measurements would be helpful?
