Really like how this T.rex looks, the Eofauna one is still my favorite in part due to the coloration but this is a great model for sure. Huge fan of the head sculpt especially.
I'm wishing ED the best on this venture, it's a promising start for sure (now we just gotta see about the price)

Perhaps Evolution will be the company to finally make a Denversaurus.

according to the comments on ED FB page from ED themselves
- each series of figures (4 per set) will represent a specific geological formation
- first formation is Hell Creek, but one of the possible options is Erlian formation, which is associated with Gigantoraptor
- a sauropod figure is possible in future, but not in Hell Creek series
- figures are made from UPVC, display bases are included
- 2 of the first 4 figures are Theropods

I didn't know for sure that's what today's announcement would be about, but I'm glad it is! Wonderful to see it has come to fruition, the T. rex looks amazing!

Cool ! Wish them great success in their project, since there is already a lot of rivalry between the "typical companies" & 3D print paleoartists in this collectors' dino market niche.
Some of them offering rather decent figures in terms of scientific accuracy at competitive prices. And in view of it, the prices of the EDE's figures shouldn't be so wallet-friendly ?...
The stylized stands as well as the eco-friendly boxes would be great, but as far as I'm concerned, I am not willing to invest in figures for their accessories.

I will probably get that T.rex and Anzu no matter the price (haven't been begging for feathered Theropods in the scale range for nothing!) unless it's really ludicrously expensive. Then, pricing influences where I go from there...
I hope the matching bases thing stays a fun gimmick and doesn't become obnoxious. Like say, including a smaller animal that's half in one base and half in another to annoy you into buying both.  :*D  From what I've seen of the owners they hopefully wouldn't dream to pull anything like that, but, y'know.
I do also kinda appreciate in a way that the bases might help the models blend in with 3D prints more (since those almost always come with a base).
Also hope they don't stay at just four animals per formation. I really wouldn't mind Pachycephalosaurus and Thescelosaurus in this scale... Even if I guess Thescelosaurus is probably hardly even a top 12 Hell Creek pick as far as most people are concerned, lmao.

A very good rex, they did their homework. Together with Eofaunas it is probably the most scientifically accurate mass produced figure. I won't be picking this one up though as I've just gotten a more high end resin rex in my preferred 1:35 scale based on the latest research on Sue by dr Eric Snively and sculpted by Linghu art studio under his tutelage

Okay, so wave 1 we know in full is this

- Tyrannosaurus rex
- Anzu wylei
- Triceratops horridus or prorsus
- Edmontosaurus annectens

Chinle & Morrison were mentioned in the video, and apparently Erlian  on facebook
I feel like the sauropod mentioned will be from the potential Morrison set, they have a lot of those. Hoping for a Torvosaurus or Ceratosaurus instead of an Allosaurus
Shrek 4 is an underrated masterpiece

I genuinely have no idea what they could do from Erlian outside of Gigantoraptor and Alectrosaurus, though. I guess Archaeornithomimus and Erliansaurus might be interesting?

This series looks great and it's so nice to have a prehistoric animal figure line from the UK again (after the Natural History Museum's)!

Tyrannosaurus and Edmontosaurus don't interest me one bit, Triceratops and Anzu I'm already satisfied with figures I have of them.  Although if the Triceratops is the prorsus species I could be interested in getting it.  At the moment though I really hope this line will include dinosaurs I very much like, so far it doesn't...  Gigantoraptor is an interesting choice, but without the top of its head known I'm not keen on having a figure of it.  I'm confident it will be a popular figure if Everything Dinosaur produces it though.

Speaking of Gigantoraptor, I find the species from its formation are lacking in a known appearance with the exception of Bactrosaurus.  So it doesn't seem like a good choice for this line...

My first impressions of the T.rex...

"Between this and the Papo, feathers are back."

"Major EoFauna vibes with the adherence to science, the softer detail presentation and the simple paint app."

"Arms cast into the body... that's uncommon."

I'd like to pay $35 for this. I'll be happy paying the same $45 for this that I paid for the EoFauna. I'm expecting to pay $60.

Passionate announcement video.

Great idea with particular formations in mind. If I understand correctly, bases and models will work together towards making hell creek ( for start ) formation as one display piece that collectors can customise in sense of exact placement.

Exciting  ^-^

I feel like Bactrosaurus/Gilmoreosaurus could have a shot at appearance, solely due to being so complete. And maybe the same applies to Neimongosaurus, since it is more complete than Erliansaurus; but it is kinda miniscule and Erliansaurus might be a bit larger. Archaeornithomimus is also kinda tiny and has really nothing going for it (it was mentioned by name in Jurassic World and that's p much the extent on noteworthy stuff surrounding it). Do think a small-ish Therizinosaur and a small Hadrosaur (especially assuming a good color scheme) could become worthwhile collectors items, maybe.

Since we're doing wishlists, for Morrison I would definitely love Camptosaurus, Ceratosaurus, Torvosaurus, and Barosaurus. Which would be an absolutely ludicrous line-up from the perspective of a toy manufacturer, I'd imagine. As a more realistic hope I hope they do either Apato- or Brontosaurus, I am not quite happy with any of the currently available ones.

Chinle Formation wise - I mean, Placerias, Postosuchus and Desmatosuchus feel like a suckers bet there. Hope they sell two Placerias as a set, a male and female version. Not sure how low they're willing to go size wise and how dubious they're willing to go existing-in-this-formation-wise, but I guess Smilosuchus and Coelophysis would be neat to have and seem like the likely next picks in line. Althought being smaller than Anzu and quite slender I am not sure Coelophysis would fit size-wise.

speaking of prices, i saw this comment by ED on their YouTube

QuoteMore information to come, there will actually be two versions in the limited production run, the special edition and the founders edition, more information on pricing soon, in the meantime, suggest you sign-up for more info here: https://www.everythingdinosaur.com/new-evolution/

to elaborate,
i got the information about Erlian formation and Gigantoraptor based on their reply to someone's comment on FB

QuoteEach series of figures (4 per set) represent a specific geological formation. We are starting with Hel Creek but we have plans... For example, we have already discussed a series from the Erlian Formation - and that is the formation associated with Gigantoraptor. We are following the science and Dr Dean Lomax Palaeontologist will help us with this.

curious too

Sim

Thanks Over9k!

I would love a Torvosaurus and Barosaurus from a Morrison Formation set!  I hope for those in this figure series!  I think a Morrison set will include Allosaurus and Stegosaurus though.  Hopefully not a Diplodocus!

Quote from: suspsy on June 03, 2025, 04:44:33 PMThat Tyrannosaurus rex does indeed look amazing. Right now my three pressing questions are: 1) Can it be removed from the base, and stand independently?; 2) When will it be released?; 3) What is the price tag?
Bob Nicholls confirmed on Instagram that it can stand independently from its base on its two feet.
