Amazing! All of Dan LoRusso's ORIGINAL sculpts somehow ended up in Hong Kong, and they're selling for the low, low price of just one hundred dollars each. Look suspiciously similar to something posted recently in the New Acquisitions thread...

This seems to be the new way.
Why should they sell these Asian bootlegs for less than the originals?
The more efficient way is not to paint them and ask for even more money ;).

Sorry, but I call every collector following this way stupid. I hope this won't be supported.
By the way: We all know that the unpainted Battat "originals" were made in resin.

PaleoMatt

Yea I doubt this is legit

Yes, saw it there :

What this auction is violating, exactly? Is it because they wrote "prototype" instead of "unpainted piece"?

I am glad to see this auction received no bids. I guess I should have been a bit more specific in my first response. First of all at the least the listing is fraudulent, I did the original which I still have and I did the prototypes that I delivered to Safari Ltd and this is not one of them so calling it one even if you are not sure as a seller is fraud. Second of all this could be the result of theft since Safari does not give out blank samples like this so it may have been stolen. I passed this on to Safari Ltd when it was posted here and they were taking it very seriously.
I should have stated that this was not a "prototype" but I assumed most saw through it like postsaurischian did. I am glad no one here was fooled and bid on it. I will try to clear things up better in the future if it happens again and I see it.

Wanted to remind anyone interested in my book Dinosaur Playsets: an Illustrated Guide to the Prehistoric Playsets of Marx and MPC that copies are available on eBay (as well as directly to me via PayPal ($44.99 +$3 shipping) to [email protected] and through Amazon....but preferably as a last resort as their fees have gotten ridiculous!)! Available copies are going faster than expected and the time to print more when these are gone can be a bit lengthy (as I found out after the first run sold out), so please check out the auction (there are a few sample pages on the listing) and if you are a fan of playsets (and other dino items) from Marx & MPC (of which there is VERY little info available elsewhere!), as well as Superior, Whitehall Games, Spaulding, Toy Street, etc., and also related figures & sets from companies often confused with Marx, MPC, & the like (such as Ajax, Nabisco, Ja-Ru, etc.), this is definitely the book for you! Reviews have been great (check out Amazon), I'm quite proud of it, and want to be able to share this guide to these often-neglected playsets with all you dino fans!!!

Will add comment later on Feedback thread, but I recently got this book from Jeff and I've gotta say it is excellent beyond all expectations I had. It is so comprehensive and well-researched, and the pictures are hi-def, all in color and on non-glossy paper that doesn't mark up from my greasy fingerprints. Seriously, this book could not be any better! It is an absolute must-have resource for any Marx or MPC fan.

Although fortunately I have thanks to a member of the forum I passed the link of the ankylosaurus bullyland that is sold on eBay. The price of the item although it is quite rare I find it excessive are $ 100 plus shipping costs over $ 20. Not that it means increasing price of the figure since it is an eBay auction and the bid can increase:
