I just wanted to share my collection with you all. I used to own around 200 different figures but they were mainly Chinasaurs and JP figures which, to be honest, I did not like that much. They were nice to play with as a child but not so well suited for displaying. So I gave most of them to charity couple of months ago. Now my main collection consists of figures that I find beautiful or that have some other value to me. These are only toys, I do not buy statues or other expensive stuff - at least not yet  ;D. My ideal dinosaur toy does not have moving parts (well, I forgive you Papo for the jaws...), it does not break, it can stand on its own and has nice details. Scientific accuracy is a huge plus but not mandatory - here we go back to Papo, I guess :P

Anyhows, here they are:

My wonderful mini Safari figures, along with couple of JPs. Sorry, not the best photo

Most of my Papo and Schleich

Papo, Carnegie, Safari, my favorite Chinasaurs and JPs

Another angle

My UKRD, Papo, Safari, Carnegie and the one and only Bullyland

UKRD and Schleich

Schleich

The Chinasaurs, UKRD brachiosaurus and JP Tyrannosaurus

Horridus

That big orange Velociraptor! I used to have that! I still have the 'real dinosaur bone' fragment that came with it.

@Mhorridus

Lio99

Look at all those schleich!

I've seen that black theropod type dino before (last pic, behind the orange raptor). It has a strange camp pose XD

ZoPteryx

Cool collection!  You have a great variety!

Tylosaurus

Ain't that just the most retro pose ever  ;D

I will put individual photos of all my favorite ones, I think they deserve it  ^-^ So here we go, starting from a.... and my favorite species

Allosaurus

Bullyland

I truly love this figure. It stands perfectly, pose is lifelike, color is beautiful and it has enough details. Nice one from Bullyland.

Papo 2008

The details in this one are superb, pose it the best one I've seen so far, it's painted wonderfully and though I do not like moving parts, the jaw gives this figure an extra twist. The only and major downside is that my figure can't stand on its two feet. I do not know if anyone has encountered the same problem. I had to use blu-tack to get these photos.

Safari 2007

This guy has one murky face.  I love it! Again, details, pose and everything is in place with this figure. Oh, and look at the tail - it ain't a tripod!

Schleich 2007

This figure is one of the better Schleich in my opinion. Color and details are good and even the pose is great. This one climbs up to the favorite category for sure.

Schleich mini 2005

This must have been my very first Allosaurus figure. For a Schleich, it really stands out. I would not give up this figure, no matter what.

P.S. Sorry for so large pics...

tyrantqueen

My papo Allosaurus occasionally has problem standing upright (for example, if the surface is not completely flat) but most of the time it is ok. However, my Papo spino doesn't stand on its own two feet at all.
I would recommend the hot water treatment, or purchasing another Allosaurus (I consider unstable figures to be a fault in these toys, as they are advertised as being able to stand in the stock photos)

I have also had couple of other problems with my papo items, Spino included, will come to that later on. My Spino stands nicely, though. Now I fear that my new running T-Rex might topple over some day  :-\
I think I will give that hot water treatment a go. I have not heard of it before but I guess it will temporarily soften the plastic and make it pliable..? How hot ought the water be? How does hot water effect the paint? Can the treatment be repeated several times if (when) I fail at the first attempt?

Time for new photos. So here comes...

Amargasaurus

Carnegie 2006

Great skin texture, amount of detail and feeling of movement. I like the fact that this is a rare species in dinosaur toy lines. I am already planning to have this repainted someday to make it even greater...

Anhanguera

Schleich 2005

This Schleich mini series was, at the time, a lot better than the 1:40 models. Ok, the pose is too static and it lacks a bit of detail, but yet I like it. I usually try not to collect any non-dinosaurs but this is one of the few exceptions.

Ankylosaurus

Papo 2011

Simply one of the best Papo figures ever. It looks almost too realistic. I could believe it is alive and breathing. I have nothing bad to say really, aside from the fact that I am not a fan of Ankylosaurids..

I have not done it myself (mostly because of laziness ::)) but I know it's a very common technique.

I did a quick google search and found some helpful links

http://miniatures.about.com/od/miniaturebasics/qt/bendplastic.htm

http://actionfigures.about.com/od/maintainingyourcollection/ss/reshaping_bent_plastic_2.htm

Also, if you're still unsure, PM Seijun or Blade-of-the-moon (they have a lot of experience in the topic)

Good luck  ^-^

I love the Carnegie Amargasaurus - also the paintjob, except for the spines. It reminds me of the colours of the German flag :P ;D.
I'd like to see you change that :).

We even had a 'Hot Water Treatment' thread ;D:

Wow! What a whopper collection! Love your Amargasaurus (such a charming little dino) and I'm just loving that you've got the dinos that you really and truly like a lot here. <3

Thanks for the thread link. I see many others have also been struggling with customising their figures. As soon as I have enough courage to bath (sacrifice) my beautiful Papo Allo, I will try this out - and show the results.
I sure hope I am not the one repainting my Amargasaurus. I will gladly give this task to a more talented person. I think we have just the one I need in Finland  ;D

I've been sending quite a few figures to Finland myself for that reason ;).

Another set of favorites:

Apatosaurus

Safari 1989 (?)

I just love sauropods. This figure was one of the very first dinosaur figures I have own. And I must say, it still is the apple of my eye. The wear and tear can be seen on the paint job, but this early Carnegie masterpiece has been incredibly durable. By the way, it says Brontosaurus on the belly. That old name was written twenty or so years ago  ^-^

Safari 2010

This lovely figure is having fine details and a nice pose. I like the curly tail, though I do not know how realistic it actually is. The use of black paint is a bit weird in this figure. The expression is almost goofy, like it had glasses or something. But still, I remain a huge fan.

Brachiosaurus

Safari 1989 (?)

Perhaps my least favorite of the Carnegie mini series because of the funny cartoonish face. But who cares, it has sentimental value by being among my first dinosaur toys. And I think it is a great sculpt if we do not think about the paint job.

Schleich mini 2002

Good amount of detail, nice coloration and typical pose. Yay, I like it. This is part of the great Schleich mini dinosaur series. My series is only one figure short at the moment. Perhaps I should try to obtain the last one, as well...

Schleich 2007

This is by far the best Brachiosaurus toys out there. It is huge, has amazing details, lots of scales and winkles, nice earthly coloration and a good pose.  I am eagerly waiting for the Carnegie and Papo brachios to arrive and hoping I could take my words back that day  ;D

U.K.R.D. 1992

In the early 90s U.K.R.D. made some great dinosaur figures that I still find beautiful and worth owning. This brachio is one of those figures. It is made out of quite heavy and not-so-easily bendable plastic. At the time there were also those cheap looking varieties of this same model, made of totally different kind of rubber, with lesser detail and sloppy coloring. I wanted to buy the entire U.K.R.D. series, but the cheap serial production line overrun the market so I could not find rest of the pack. I still have 7 figures to buy: stegosaurus, triceratops, velociraptor, apatosaurus, allosaurus, parasaurolophus and dimetrodon  :-\

Harukin

Let's move on from C to G :P

Cryolophosaurus

Carnegie 2010

Theropods are fascinating and absolutely my favourite group of dinosaurs. This Cryolophosaurus, the one and only of a kind in my collection, is especially neat. The head has amazing level of details. That blue crest and sharp teeth are superb. Posture is a bit dull but nothing that could not be altered...

Dilophosaurus

Safari 2008

Great dark colors, fine details but unfortunately slightly rabbity stance. I truly like the head and crest , though. For some odd reason this Dilophosaurus seems very cunning; perhaps it's the eyes... I like it  ;D

Schleich mini 2004

This one is probably the second best figure in Schleich mini series. It is a one hungry looking creature with nice coloration, pose and skin texture. My fave, for sure.

Dimetrodon

Carnegie 1988

Not a dinosaur yet a solid member of my collection. This collectible has the privilege to do so, since along with other Carnegie oldies, it was one of the first prehistoric figures that I have ever obtained. I do not care about the downsides; I like nearly everything about this little Dimetrodon.

Diplodocus

Carnegie 2006

It was really hard trying to capture this magnificent replica into a one photo - and I failed miserably. This Diplodocus is again one of a kind in my collection. It has so many nice things that I would like to mention. First comes the paint, which I like probably because of the bluish markings on the head and a hint of bluey on the otherwise green back. Details are fine with curly tail and tiny head. Sauropods are the best - after Theropods of course  ;D

Giganotosaurus

Carnegie 2007

It's a blue theropod. What more could I wish for? This guy has some serious amount of details, making it look really life-like and furious predator.  Pose it slightly awkward mainly because of oddly bending limbs. Otherwise this is a first class toy.

Libraraptor

I like the side by side of very cool figures and the chinasaurs! I believe they enjoy being among the others.
