I've seen it at walmart, it's not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. :)
Same here. It isn't as much of a disgrace as I thought. ;)

It's better than the chapi mei one.   ;)
Totally! ;)

(that's 3 winky faces  ;) in a row! ;))

So is the deluxe collecta Therizinasaurus 1/40 scale?

Bokisaurus

A little oddball joined the group of oddballs  ^-^ Not sure who made it.

Manatee

Wow, that one is odd! It appears to be a "raptor" with the proportions of a therizinosaur and massive pronated hands. Chinasaurs can be so weird sometimes.

I have to be honest, I've never cared for the Battat Nanshiungosaurus. The sculpting is good, but the paint is poorly applied. And the total lack of feathers makes it very boring in my eyes.

The paint seems about Battat quality on mine..not spectacular ala Papo not terrible like on many chinasaurs.

Not picking a fight or anything but it's curious that a lack of feathers makes it less interesting. I wonder if we've seen so much scale and wrinkle detail that we're numb to it now? Maybe part of a reason for the psychology behind wanting to try feathers on every species now?

There's no question that feathers spice up some dinosaur figures, but there is still a limit. I wouldn't want to see say, a Spinosaurus or an Iguanodon with feathers---- unless fossil proof of some form was discovered. And yeah, at this point I'd say we're well accustomed to seeing wrinkles on dinosaurs. Personally, I prefer scaly textures like those of CollectA, WS, and Papo.

An iguanodon I agree, since that is in (albeit not direct) contradiction to fossil evidence, spinosaurus however while (extremely!) speculative, would certainly be interesting to see depicted with feathers. I think this ties in directly with Blade-of-the-Moon's idea that people are being dulled to scale or wrinkle depictions. I think its not so much that scales or wrinkles are dull, but rather that variety and creativity are such an integral part of paleoart, and it feels like figurine companies are rarely willing to depict speculation in their products. It is that figures are feeling more like pop-culture awesomebro fodder as opposed to really feeling like paleoart. Just my two cents.

Blade-of-the-Moon

If it helps sell an item I expect we'll eventually get every variation ( speculation-wise) of a given animal. This raises the question where to from there? Quality?

suspsy

The other advantage of feathers is that you have an even greater range of colours to choose from. I'd like to see someone do a therizinosaur in all black like in All Yesterdays.

What company made that green chap in the second photo, next to the chap mei one?

Paleona

I did a quick google search, and that green one seems to be a "4D Master Puzzle".  :)

its a fun little figure, eh? :)

Not just this but the whole set as well! Then again, Theri's seem to enjoy getting the best most number of poses now that you mention it.

Is it just me, or does that pose and color remind anyone else of a cormorant?
