I'm honestly just trying to get a good, up-to-date,  accurate image of the width in spinosaurs for my 20' Suchomimus sculpture...though comparing the three might be cool..would be triple cool if the Giga was available in 1:40 as well.

Thanks for taking the time to post that Joel, it should help I hope.
No problem,  Chris. Hopfully someone will be able to make sense of it and use it.

Hello people.

Some of you may have seen that my Troodon is now available for ordering at Dan's Dinosaurs right about here....

http://stores.homestead.com/hstrial-Dliebman2/-strse-603/Troodon-Resin-Kit-by/Detail.bok

  Its about $90.

Also, here is the final pose of the Spino.  It should be printed in 1/40 in about 2 weeks.  Might take me longer to get it on Shapeways at smaller scales.

It'll be about 13 inches long, but remember that the pose is curved so the animal is actually close to a 50 foot specimen.  I'll double check my notes on that size.

They look awesome David ! I can't wait to order both ! :)

The international shipping calculator on the website does not always behave the way I'd like, so please feel free to contact me directly if any of the numbers seem off. Thanks.

Blade-of-the-Moon

I don't think you can ever fully trust shipping calculators anywhere..I can't tell you how off they usually are when I place an order.

Hey everybody.  I posted this on FB, but incase you missed it here you go.  If I haven't friended you my apologies...I only know you from your DinoToyForum names.  You can alwalys send me a message here and I'll look for you in my requests.

I thought I revisit my older Gorgosaurus concept called "Judith" in ZBrush and feather her up based on Yutyrannus ( even though there is a skin sample from this animal showing some scales). This is a work in progress, I still have some noodling to do and I need to recheck the proportions against my more recent skeletal refs. Must admit, its hard to make sculpted feathers/fuzz look soft and natural. Also, trying to get all the nuances of the original pose but with slightly different proportions was a challenge.
No idea what I'll do with this model. You can look here to see the sculpt I did in 1997 using a medium called "clay"

Maybe some images. Hope these work.  I miss the old forum where you could just dump and image onto the page.

That is absolutely fantastic looking.

Blade-of-the-Moon

I'm telling you David..it's time for a re-release ! I have your first Judith model but I'd gladly buy this one to show the progress or understanding these creatures.

Then you can follow up with an updated Rex Mundi piece eh ?  ;)

Patrx

That's astonishingly elegant. If folks like you keep making beautiful feathered dinosaurs all the time, I'll go bankrupt.  :))

I'm trying to dream up a kickstarted campaign that would allow me to afford larger scale prints and molds for some of my models.  I'm still mulling over what the levels of donation/gifts should be.  Shapeways credits?  Hand drawn pictures?

Most people get snagged on actually getting the rewards produced and delivered.  I don't want to be in that situation but I want to have people satisfied for their money.

  Any ideas?

I might suggest, for the lowest rewarded donations, signed prints of your drawings. Those would be really quick and easy to produce in quantities, and they're still something your fans would be glad to have. The next step up could be the original drawings, which you'd already have done, and a step beyond that might be some kind of new, commissioned sketch. Just a few thoughts  :)

Having participated in three Kickstarter projects so far I'd say those are great ideas.  Use what you have as rewards now and not base them on the outcome of the project.

How about also, copies of your dvds ?

I think the Shapeways credits could work well too..saves you having to produce and ship items as well.

An original commissioned sketch  is something I would certainly be interested in getting myself..as well as the other things I mentioned.

I totally would be on board with that :D Also, is the fuzzy Gorgo part of the Saurozoic Collection?

One of David's first sculptures was " Judith " here..I think she came out about the same time as the Einiosaurus " Buffalo Bull " .  This new feathered version..I don't think David has plans just yet to make her part of any collection...but I'm hoping !
