1/8 sounds good.. at a 12" long it will be what 8" tall in this pose ?

I wouldn't mind one from shapeways in 1/18 either to with Shane's 1/18 Anatotitan. :)

Little Allosaurus is very cute   ^-^.
[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

We had a few pics of this big guy at the top of page 11..I wonder if David is almost ready to start selling it ?  :)

Someone beat me to it.  I'm not sure if this is the final Spino pose, it needs to grow on me a bit.  But as mentioned before, this iwll be a Saurozoic 1/40 kit, a 1/72 shape ways and maybe a 1/144 shape ways, but I don't this these teeth will print unless a really beef them up.  Not ready to sell it yet, but after the Troodon, for which I have prints for already, it is next in line.

OK, now I remember why I stopped posting pics here.  Because I can't anymore.  It does not give me the option to upload pics anymore.  I'm sure its easy but I'm just missing it.  In the meantime, if someone wants, could you post pics of the the Spino and Troodon prints from my Facebook David Krentz Art page?

Thanks

Simon

Hi David.  I believe that uploading photos takes up too much of the site's bandwidth.  You should simply link to a photo from your facebook page like this:

P.S.  I loved John Carter (of Mars).  Too bad it bombed and the sequels will never be made.

Alrighty than..lets see if this works

Fixed for you, my good sir :) In order to post pictures, you must put img code pointers in the front and end of the image URL, like this:
Take special note that the pointer with the "/" goes at the end.

To see what I did, press the "quote" button, and study the text. You should see something like this:

Study it carefully, and remember to place the code pointer with the "/" at the end. Good luck!

Not a huge Spino fan, but that is one gorgeous model. Can't wait to get it in 1/40 kit form 8)

radman

Awesome spino, the detail is amazing!  Love the little crest.  Would look even cooler if it came with some fish it had just caught lying in front of it, eh?

You could just buy some fish from here
http://www.replicatoyfish.com/Unpainted-Midwest-Tackle-Box-10-Unpainted-Midwest-Tackle-Box.htm

It'd make a great Spino food prop.

Thanks for taking the time to post that Joel, it should help I hope.

I think the current pose looks like it's peering into the water looking for something to catch.  It looks good, though I would like to see the face better..it looks like it has a lot of character and I'm not sure how well it will be to see it looking down. :?  If you could see it's reflection well in  the water perhaps ?  Though that work better at a larger scale... ;)

BTW do you happen to have an overhead shot of this guy showing his width by any chance ? :)

radman

Yeah, those fish are fairly cool, although apparently most of the really ancient ones, i.e., sturgeon, gar are only available in the larger size.  What I was thinking, was, it would be nice to have a "caught" fish, with bite and scratch marks, maybe some guts hanging out, twisted into a "U"  with mouth agape, or something like that, that would fit right in front of the spino.  Sawfish, maybe?  Especially with the DK attention to detail, kinda like a companion piece.  Just a thought.  That would work for any theropod, really.  Even wolves have been known to catch fish, esp in the wintertime.   ^-^

If you can find the right scaled fish you want I can customize it for you with a little work.  If you just want a half body or something then maybe I could just create that from scratch.

An overhead shot comparing the Giganotosaurus and Tyrannosaurus perhaps? That will really show who is more massive.
