Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus

David, any updates on when the resin Spino and Theri will be available?
And they'll be available at Dan's store, right?

So here is what I know for sure about the Spinosaurus etc...
The pouring of castings had to be put off due to the cold temperatures here in the states- at least thats what I think Mike Evans said.  He is pouring this week and next week.  So I imagine that Dan's Dinosaurs and Urzeitshop will have Spino's by the end of this month for sure.  I'm sure they'll let you all know.  I think it will cost just a little North of $100 US dollars but it all depends on what the retailers want to sell it for.
I have held off production of Judith and Buffalo Bull because I'd rather pay for new molds on the Saurozoic stuff.  The will be produced again I just don't know when.  Rex Mundi...sigh...I still like about 60% of that sculpt, but a lot of it needs updating.  That means finding the time to do so, which I don't have right now.  So in short don't hold your breath for that.

Therizinosaurus will be 3d printed and sent out for casting within the month.

I don't accept orders from my krentzpresentz website any longer.  It is also sadly very out of date and a poor representation of my work.  The software it was created on is from 1998 and it shows.  I would love to have a slick new website that shows all my work including Shapeways and resins yet that again is a time issue.  Any volunteers?

Cool, that's better than hearing they're not going to be re-released at all :)

I'm sure the new Spinosaurus will be stunning.

I appreciate all of your patience with me.  I wish I could be more consistent!  Oh yea, a Chubbie Ankylosaurus is almost done too.

I think if you produce Judith again it should in an updated feathered version.   Rex Mundi I kinda figured it would be a long wait if we ever see it again. I mentioned it in another thread..I would actually prefer you just sculpted a new T-Rex..maybe in 1:15 ?  I keep thinking about your 1:40 piece in that larger scale and it's mind blowing.

Shoot my brother a message. Here's his site : timkastnerproductions.com  He does audio, video and website work.  He's created a lot of material, he currently works for the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Chubbie Ankylosaurus is almost done.  I was hemming and hawing about the legs being out straight, but given the hip anatomy and short limb length this might have been possible.  In a realistic sculpture I would indeed research this a lot, but I think the 'juvenile' aesthetic of this guy helps sell the idea, as juveniles are often much more elastic.  This pose was inspired by my daughter who is just learning to crawl.

Very much like a mix between a dog, baby, and a tank!  ;D

Has anyone received my Spino Kit yet?  Apparently some people have!  I must've missed the email that says they are now available.  If anyone has one, can you post a pic?

Thanks!

The forum's name of the powerful friend is Mironimus and he's the owner of Urzeitshop ;D. He still has some.
Mine is already in the U.K. now ;). Another powerful friend named Martin will vivify the model.
I will post pics here as well when it's finished.

David i own one and have for about a week now. Got to tell ya its the best and most accurate Spinosaur model out there period! long toro, short femur, perfect skull and the sail which is in my opinion (not that it matters) is the new correct look of the dorsal vertebrae . love it. Got mine from Dans Dinosaurs. I want to get all of your 1/40th Collection. I wonder if the tail should be a bit longer ? and the head is turned a tad too sharp compared with the neck bend my work has its faults too, but its wonderful and im very glad to have it. more David. Im not just a Paleosculptor but I also collect and support others that do what I do and will continue to support them , I love what I do and so do they, if we want to see them continue then buy there work. I do.
Bringing back the world of Dinosaurs one sculpt at a time!

Thanks Shane!  High praise!  I actually triple checked the neck posture, and held back from an even more s-curve that looked really cool and pelican like, but clearly caused the neural spines to overlap.  I know there is a tendency to depict Spinos with a hang dog-c-shaped neck, but this is based on ONP ( anatomically neutral position) which I am alway highly skeptical.  If people didn't know what a rabbit looked like and recreated its skeleton the cervicals would prove that a rabbit spent most of its day staring at its own butt through it front paws.  My three consultants on the piece, one of whom actually did work on Spinosaur necks said I was pretty safe, which I was happy about because I was trying to get the head back in anticipation of a sawfish coming into view.

Not sure about the tail length.  Maybe... I followed Scott Hartman's skeletal so I'll just blame him.  I think I saw one of your Spinos with an "updated" sail.  It looked amazing.

I wish I could collect other peoples work, and I often feel hypocritical that I don't.  However, I just don't have room for it all!  Heck, I don't even display my own resins.  I don't even own painted version of my own resins..well, except some Antediluvians.  Pretty sad really.  However, I am EXTREMELY grateful for those people who spend their hard earned money on our dinosaur sculpts.
