whoah great new stuff Jetoar. ;)

Thanks friend, I have bought a great lot of figures  ^-^.
[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

CityRaptor

Looks a bit like the secret Love Child of a Jurassic Park Tyrannosaurus and a Naeve Parker Megalosaurus.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Neven Florian

This is not a correct figure palaeontologically but I confess that I like it. Thank you for sharing. ;D

The Mojo T-Rex looks a little cartoonish, but I like it!

Hey Neven Florian, I see you have a picture of your Papo collection in your signature. Do you have more pictures? Do you have a link to them posted somewhere? I'd like to see more!

You can see my collection of STS Forum because I mainly active in this one. To view it, you can go to the General reviews and then in the general additions. In the middle of the page, there are several posts in my name with all the different dioramas I have. I also at the beginning of this topic my general additions. If you can not see the pictures on STS FORUM, I will try to post on this forum.  ;D ;D ;D

liking a particular figure is what matters, not if it's accurate or whatever. :)

Some of my newest dino-related stuff.

I know this book is not about dinosaurs but I figure there are probably some people here interested in cryptozoology here and at least know who Donald Prothero is. Also the book does include Mokele-mbembe. It has been an excellent book so far but I've only read the bigfoot portion, now I'm into the yeti. Before anyone asks, this is a book written by skeptics. It presents evidence and arguments that these creatures DO NOT exist and gives background into the origin of their myths.

I found this copy of the January 1993 issue of National Geographic in a local antique shop. I've always loved this issue since I first saw it as a kid. It also contains a lot of work by John Gurche who as it turns out lives in the nest town over from me! He has an exhibit at my local paleontology museum and that is what drove me to look for this issue in the first place.

As for actual models...the Carnegie Mammoth

And the Kaiyodo Yutyrannus. I'm still working on getting the rest of the set.

And also, a mounted American black duck. I know it is not a figure but hey, it is a dinosaur!

Scored a Wild Safari Velociraptor at a local gift shop for only $0.99.
I already have one in my collection, so decided:

I thought this was real at first ;) Nice photoshop.

I got these two today:

The Elasmo is good (one of the current Safaris I actually like) and the Dimetrodon is very, very good. There is even a sense of movement imbued in the sail as the animal twists its body from one side.

It looks pretty accurate to me; it even has that 'notch' that is so characteristic of Dimetrodon.  It also happens to be the most aesthetically pleasant and accurate model of Dimetrodon in the mass market. Well, with the recently released (relatively) accurate Carnotaurus, I hope to see Papo embrace, wholeheartedly, scientific figures....but then again, Jurassic Park IV will arrive in the theaters in 2015.

Yesterday I arrived to excavate in Madrid and I bought some figures and books two weeks ago  ^-^.

I have found Mojo figures in Fnac stores  ^-^.

I see you now have the Toyway WWD Ophthalmosaurus, as I've said before, such a great figure. Well done.  :)
I really really like blue things.

Exactly. Jeez, if my collection was condensed down to only the 'accurate' figures I'd have only about a couple of dozen, tops. Also, some of my favourite items would have to go. There's so much more meaning behind what we like about items than just accuracy, such as nostalgic value, association with certain events, circumstances etc, sheer charm, artistic quality. It's all way too subjective to be universally seen as "good" or "bad" from a purely scientific standpoint. It's all art as well as anything else, and no art is objectively good or bad.

That said, I'm not particularly fond of the Mojo Tyrannosaur, but that's merely my opinion, as I have made no associations with it to reinforce positive memories / perceptions etc.

I really really like blue things.

Takama

got these while at the Grocery Store.

I like the T-Rex very much
