They weren't compact like that; they were like marshmallow consistency. Some kind of impermeable foam rubber. And I guarantee they would have floated.

Not in the little eggs you had crushed.

You just aborted two dinosaur babies.   >:D

LOL!

Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

You forget, the whole point is that they fill with water so they don't float for very long.

BlueKrono

See I used the word "impermeable" because the foam rubber would not have absorbed water. The growing dinos are hard and compact in their dry form, not squishy and light. I'm 99% sure that's not what these were. They might have been designed to look like them but not actually function... as knockoffs do.

Roselaar

Lovely threesome! Could you make a comparison shot with the Acrocanthosaurus, or the dead Tenontosaurus (or both), please?

I keep its stand in the box because is almost impossible to keep the figure standing on it. Just the slightest touch or breeze and BUM! Shark on the floor. A pity cause I really like the sandy bottom of the ocean base.

That's too bad about the stand, because I agree it looks very elegant. Nevertheless, a beautiful shark.

I absolutely love the Megalodon. My version also doesn't rest well on the stand....a rectangular, seemingly stable looking stand  ???

Finally, White Post Moschops has arrived! I´m so pleased and thankful! Thank you so much, BlueKrono!

I found a picture of the original here:

Roselaar

My god, what a terrible terrible ugly-as-heck figure... Congrats on finding this gem! :)

Halichoeres

It's reminiscent of the dire wolf puppy that was found mummified in Siberian permafrost:

In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Right from the beginning after I had seen it for the first time I thought, whoa, maybe some of these eventually will be mine.
You´re both right, Roselaar and Halichoeres, it´s ugly as hell, but it´s so charming, too!

Silvanusaurus

is it supposed to have that splodge of green paint on it, or was that an accident?

Got the Safari Quetz... but opted to highlight these...

Got a big box from Shapeways.  My itch for 1/72 dinos became a good Sunday project.
(In hindsight, I'll probably have to replace these pics soon.  In my excitement, I didn't realize I was using the obits as my painting mat.  Didn't mean to post anything morbid. :-[ )

sauroid

cool new ones Dyscrasia and ITdactyl.
ITdactyl, cant wait to see those shapeways painted

All of the White Post figures have that sloppy, amateurish paint job. It was not a major company! Check out more on the White Post post ;) :

Actually, it even says "Hong Kong" at my Moschops´ belly. Noone could tell a rarity from a cheap chinasaur this way, which could be an explanation for their rarity.

BlueKrono

That's true, they don't have the classic poses and sculpts you usually see in antique figures. Like the plastic Yoplait/ Henkel dinosaurs, they are so rare most collectors aren't even familiar with them, but they're very valuable to those who know what they are.
