WoW! Your work is awesome!

I have been flirting with the idea of sculpting, creating my own models.

How did you get started?

Dinomike

Thanks Joe! I used to build dino worlds as a kid. I used tree branches and plastic chinasaurs to create lost worlds. At around the age of twelve or so I started using some clay to create my own dinos. I used clay that dries up in room temperature and the results varied. Had great fun though! Then there was a long break - high school, university, kids and stuff happened. It was two years ago that I decided to try again and this time with Super Sculpey. Stay tuned - a new diorama is on its way! :)

So here's a little something I made to amuse my kids and myself: Dinomike Queen of Arendelle Diorama with a juvenile Yutyrannus named Olaf. You may notice the influence by Doug Watson's excellent Yutyrannus :D

April 8th:
I retooled Elsa's face which I wasn't happy with and repainted her eyes. I also made a new snow flake. My kids are happier with it now. :D

My kids stated: 'TThe dino is so cute but Elsa is just bad! She's ugly! The snowflake doen't look like a snowflake! But the dino is cute!' Hahaha! so much for my efforts to produce an interpretation of Elsa! My artistic goals were not understood. :)

Fantastic, absolutely fantastic Dinomike.  Reminds me of some fun dioramas I made for my own kids when they were little. What company made that Yutyrannus?

Wait, I think I figured it out - you sculpted it from scratch, right?  A++++++ KUDOS!!!

Pretty cool (pun intended >:D). In my opinion, Frozen was the best Disney film we've had in years. Probably because I love winter 8)

Blade-of-the-Moon

Nice job! I know from experience humans can be a pain to draw/sculpt.  One reason I do very few outside of an anime style.

I haven't seen the film yet but the sculpt you have is very well done.

I generally avoid and dislike disney style characters and so forth as a general personnal rule, but your sculpture is just brilliant...very nice.
Authors with varying competence have suggested dinosaurs disappeared because of meteorites...God's will, raids by little green hunters in flying saucers, lack of standing room in Noah's Ark, and palaeoweltschmerz—Glenn Jepsen

I first painted the base with hues of blue and white. Then I seamend gaps with Efco Snow Liner. Then I covered everything with Noch Schneeflocken Snow powder. Very easy to use! :)

It looks great, a moment in time......only seconds away from the Yutyrannus ripping elsa's face off........it is nature after all....... Great Job!

Beautiful sculpture! I especially noticed the braided hair... That looks like it would be interesting to make. The Yutyrannus looks professional! ^-^
