Just for the sake of keeping this thread up-to-date; Anzu wyliei, sculpted by Aaron Doyle.

Balaur

Patrx

Thanks, Balaur! This is only my second time attempting to paint wings, but I think it's a respectable improvement.

Yinlong downsi, sculpted by Manuel Bejarano. I thought I had posted this guy here before, but I guess not.

More repaints :)

Diabloceratops eatoni
Sculpted by Doug Watson for Safari, Ltd.

Dacentrurus armatus
Sculpted by Dan LoRusso for Battat

I am a little late to this party but just found the thread, nice work Patrx. My favourite, surprise, surprise is the Dracorex very natural and believable looking. I always get a kick out of repaints of my pieces. Its neat to see what others come with like your take on my Diabloceratops. I also really like the Inostrancevia and Plotosaurus.

Bokisaurus

Nice to see new ones ^-^ Now I wish I had time to repaint ;)

Psittacosaurus, sculpted by Aaron Doyle! I've been meaning to tackle this one for ages, but I wanted to wait until I thought I was skilled enough to do it justice. I think it turned out all right :)
Colors are based on "The integument of Psittacosaurus from Liaoning Province, China" by T. Lingham-Soliar and G. Plodowski
Also pictured is a Psittacosaurus radius and ulna.

Very realistic colouring on the Psittacosaurus. And the Diabloceratops and Dacentrurus are very striking!
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

Very nice, I can see your technique is progressing.

Thanks, guys :) I have rather less time for painting lately, but overall I think I'm improving. Slowly  ;D
Also, some of the images in this thread weren't showing up due to outdated links - should be fixed for now!

Do you have trouble painting on the surface of Shapeways materials?

Actually, no - I kind of like it. It's sort of absorbent like paper, so it doesn't take much paint to get the colors to stand out. I do coat it with matte varnish first, though. I do wish the detail in White Strong and Flexible was a little sharper, though - if only so I could see  the eyes and nostrils and such more clearly.

Ah, that must help a lot. You get a lot of detail on those tiny figures - those photos make it look a lot bigger than it actually is.

Any guesses as to which animal's coloration I took inspiration from?

Safari Gastornis, sculpted by Doug Watson.

This is also my first experiment with HDR photography, thanks to some advice from RobinGoodfellows! I am happier with the photograph than with the repaint itself, to be honest.
