I'm not very fond of the Battat Cryolophosaur sorry!
Gorgonzola made sucha wonderful job with a whole herd of these animals...
nevertheless the  therizinosaur by Dan Lorusso is magic
so here's my vote: Nanshiungosaurus
I agree, I like Gorgonzola's Cryolopho best. It guess I just prefer his sculpting style over LoRusso's (just personal preference). And he released them in slew of different poses, so there's a lot of choice. I can't wait to see what Gorgy puts out next >:D

I think the Cryo has the best paint job and patterns but it is not my favorite of the lot (I still love it though). The Nanshiungosaurus and Dacentrurus are my favorites taking everything into account (sculpt, color, posture etc.). The Pachy is the most dynamic but I'm not a big fan of the paint job on that one. Still all wonderful models though, I'm just comparing them to each other.

feather colours or not, its still not accurate to the skeletal...

Which skeletal thats not accurate ?

stargatedalek

the Papo archaeopteryx doesn't match up to the real thing
-the neck and tail are to short
-the head is to large
-the head is the wrong shape

Arul

cryolophosaur get 2nd position, what make it special actually ?

None of the above. The Favorite Company's dinos, mammals, and "others" aren't even listed.
Is this a North Korean election, only one candidate on the ballot?
Either list everything or don't bother with your silly slanted ballot!  C:-)

At the end of the year I'm going to use this poll to create a 'top 10 prehistoric animal figures of 2014' video, so we need to make sure we have all the new figures listed as options in the poll.  C:-)

Careful, we have a rule against rudeness on the forum. I figure your comment was tongue in cheek, but still. Thanks.  C:-)

I made a thread a month or so back to try and keep track of all the releases this year, we could use that and start another poll?

I believe that this was asked and answered on another thread earlier in the year, the answer being that the Favorite Dinos were a 2013 release.  That is why they are not listed in the poll.

P.S.  I caught the Monty Python reference, BTW  ;)

stargatedalek

they weren't listed because for some reason only "euro-centric" brands were accepted

there have been several favorite releases this year, and one Kaiyodo release

"Euro-centric brands"?  Carnegie, Safari and Battat don't fit that definition.  Only Papo and Collecta do.

As I mentioned earlier, the new Favorite Collection was released in 2013, not 2014.  The many other one-off special Japanese museum releases are not available outside of Japan, hence they would not be included in the list for that reason.  Its the same reason that a few years ago Battat was omitted from a poll of "Favorite Toy Brands".  They had to reenter the market to get back on our poll lists.

-"euro-centric" does not refer to European, "euro-centric" also includes North American, basically its areas colonized by European countries that retain much of European culture

-by that logic Battat should be omitted because they aren't available outside of the US, seems only fair

-thats not even close to the same reason, Battat would have been omitted because they were not producing dinosaur toys at the time, (Favorite and Kaiyodo are producing figures during this year), yet you say this somehow correlates to excluding favorite and Kaiyodo based on distribution range, which is entirely unrelated to whether a brand is currently producing figures

Thank you, stargatedalek!
A much more complete (and therefore much better) list.
AGAIN (& again): Such a poll doesn't make sense before the end of the year!

BTW.: Favorite Collection - not available outside Japan? I live in Germany and I have them all ;D .

Yes, a new poll is probably needed. Next year we should wait till November before the  'best of 2015' poll is created.

Well...we will survive another poll, won't we?!?!

This is when something will turn up in December! ;D
Don't you hate it when you legitimately compliment someone's mustache and she gets angry with you?

I agree. Gives us time to buy em too.
Walking With Monsers:
[about Lystrosaurus] Astonishingly, their vast herds make up more than half of all life on Earth. Never again will a single species do so well.

Walking With Monsters: (Hynerpeton) To avoid injury the males demonstrate their strength  in a strange  push up contest.
