No, but sometimes, like with the Torvosaurus, the base is a separate molded piece and the feet are glued in. Then it is possible, with care, to remove the base, usually permanently:

My Ichthyovenator is in storage, but from my photo of it, it looks like the base might be a separate piece:

The review on the blog doesn't focus much on the feet but they don't look molded to the base in those photos either http://dinotoyblog.com/2015/06/01/ichthyovenator-collecta/
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

So in theory, I could just dunk the feet and base in hot water and pop it off?

Not really. I think you'd probably need a modelling knife/scalpel in order to remove it, although the hot water trick might make it easier to remove that way.

EDIT: Saw that you had already received the CollectA Ichthyovenator, so removed the second part of my post.

Shonisaurus

Obviously if you wet a dinosaur with hot water in this case Collecta based on extracting the figure from the base is much easier and so accidents are avoided, in the sense that you can section something from the leg of the animal with the knife.

Sucho-Matty-mus

The JWFK Baryonyx and Suchomimus are phenomenal toys. I have them both just cannot figure out how to post an image of them directly.

The Baryonyx is amazing no doubt, and the Suchomimus is mostly good except for the back sail, which looks way to thin. I have some problems with the paint job as well. The colors are just too bright for me.

Vidusaurus

Amazing as toys maybe, but they fall well short of anything resembling accuracy

Silvanusaurus

I've been working on a dedicated Baryonyx collection, it being my favourite British dinosaur. I only just got the chance to get all I currently have together for a photograph. It's not completely comprehensive yet but it does make me happy to have so many iterations of the ol' Heavy Claw, from the sublime to the ridiculous. I still need the Jurassic Park/World toys and a few other miscellaneous figures. (There are a couple of sneaky Suchomimus' in the photos too.)

Off the top of my head this includes; Carnegie, Schleich, Favorite, Papo (custom), Lontic, Toyway, Invicta, CollectA, Geoworld, Salvat, Mojo, Yowie, Sega, Safari, Recur, Gimiki's Journey, Dinowaurs and Bullyland (custom).

Gothmog the Baryonyx

It's such a shame that so many of the well, many, figures of the incredible British dinosaur (or should I say great British for the pun?) leave a lot to be desired. It does seem to improving overall though.
Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, Archaeopteryx, Cetiosaurus, Compsognathus, Hadrosaurus, Brontosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Albertosaurus, Herrerasaurus, Stenonychosaurus, Deinonychus, Maiasaura, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx, Argentinosaurus, Sinosauropteryx, Microraptor, Citipati, Mei, Tianyulong, Kulindadromeus, Zhenyuanlong, Yutyrannus, Borealopelta, Caihong

It depends what criteria you have I suppose. True, most of them are palaeontological abominations from a scientific perspective, arguably the Favorite is the only truly accurate one I own. Personally however, that isn't the main factor in my collecting, I appreciate them all as what you might call 'artefacts of imagination', each branching off in odd directions from the central truth of the animal, but each with it's own aesthetic decisions that I find interesting or endearing, even when they are downright ugly. That's why I rank both the freakish Papo and the ridiculous retro Schleich amongst my favourites.

avatar_Silvanusaurus @Silvanusaurus , think you could post more photos of the Mojo Fun version? That's the first time I've seen anyone post some.

Aye, that I can surely do, sir.

The face is weirdly wide, it cant stand at all, and the sculpted detail is pretty crude if you look closely, but it's still better than quite a few of the others.

Shonisaurus

Mojo's baryonyx would be a good figure and would be in the remarkable as a whole if it had a different paint touch. Honestly though I like it but I must admit in my case that it far exceeds Favorite's baryonyx quality.

The painting of the baryonyx of Mojo is quite coarse and of regular quality if I have to be honest, the modeling of the painting is much better than the first theropods of said company. In general the Mojo baryonyx would be in the high approved score from my point of view. It is a good figure but it could be improved. Obviously far exceeds Collecta baryonyx first version of the early XXI century both the Deluxe and the standard.

Thank you for posting these images. Between the overly wide skull and the warped right leg, it looks like this toy is a real letdown. Thank goodness for Favorite and CollectA!

Thanks for the photos, Silvanusaurus! The mojo Baryonyx looks a really nice figure! I sincerely prefear it to both the favorite and CollectA versions. I'll probably buy it one day or another.
Plus, I personally love his paint scheme, probably because I have a predilection for bright colors like this figure's.

Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

Collecta and Favorite more than compensate the representation in collection and toy figure of the baryonyx. We should also add Invicta and Carnegie, even if they are out of print. But even Mojo's baryonyx is in some ways an acceptable figure, although it could be improved.

I would have never guessed it the Baryonyx looks like that from the first promo pics from MOJO. The paintjob was way better, they details didn't look crude and the angle of the shots didn't show that wide snout. I've seen retouches on promo pics in various brands but I've never been so fooled like with this Bary. And even so it's one of the few on the "passable to good" scale Baryonyx figures available.

I bought Mojo Baryonyx a month ago.
I never took pictures of it because I'm planning a repaint and a customization.
The original figure has a terrible paint job (mine even has an unpainted eye..  ::) ).
But the model is quite good with fine details.
Probably pictures above were taken by a cell phone or a tablet with a wide angle lens because the head is quite distorted in proportion.
It's not like that on naked eyes.
That's why I always say do not judge a figure by pictures..  ;)
I strongly suggest do not take pictures near a figure with a wide angle lens because of distortions..  :-\
On my thread I use a full frame camera with a "normal" lens ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normal_lens ).
:)
