I just found an older piece of mine, probably one of my first scientifically accurate reconstructions of Stegosaurus stenops. Note the realistically proportioned eggs and speculative colors. :)

fabricious

I just thought I'd share this one in here as well, since it counts as art done by me. :)

Meso-Cenozoic

Still trying to catch up on all the threads on this forum, since being away for awhile. And I have to tell you, I have been completely absorbed in your thread from beginning to end. Love your art! I'm especially liking the progress pics. BTW, how is the Spino coming? :D  If you're in college, you must be deep into finals right now. Totally remember what that was like! :P  Will be looking out for your return and more art updates!! Good luck!  :)

fabricious

Thanks for the kind words! I haven't had the chance to work on the Spinosaurus some more, due to too many other projects and university stuff. ;) Semester is still only halfway done here, but quite a lot of things to work on. The next, finished thing will be the Struthiosaurus, since I'll have to get it done in december and after that a couple of non-dinosaur-related projects.

Meso-Cenozoic

Well good luck to you on all this. Looking forward to seeing any progress pics. :)

Here is the almost finished Struthiosaurus austriacus model, next step will be posing and then rendering.

And since I wanted to take a break from modeling that nodosaur, here is what just happened:

I tried to avoid her, since everyone seems to be modeling the king, but I couldn't resist... ;)

Or a drowning one, for that matter... :D I haven't seen that many sleeping ones, either, to be honest. Mainly they are roaring, fighting, standing or lumbering (since you can't really call that running, in my opinion... :D)

DinoLord

I think I've seen a few resting T. Rex resin kits before. But T. Rex seems a bit too majestic to be shown drowning.  :P

Love to see the development in your art! A very good Stego it is too! Wish I had kept my old drawings or sculptures.

Thanks, it was definitely a good idea that my mom kept it! :)

The Struthiosaurus is AMAZING! It will be available in full color on Shapeways, right? If so, it will (as long as it doesn't have too much of an exorbitant price) be my first Shapeways model. Fantastic work!

stargatedalek

AFAIK shapeways can't print in colour

edu

Really awesome work! I'd love to see some interesting and naturalistic poses in that T-rex.

stargatedalek

huh, I hadn't known shapeways offered sandstone
new to me ;)

fabricious

I can try making him available in sandstone, sure! Have to figure out what to incorporate for that, but I'd sure be in for it. ;)

Dinomike

May I ask, what program do you use for 3D modeling? Those dinos look dazzling! Any progress on the Spinosaurus pic?

The program used is Zbrush by poxologic.
I haven't had the chance to work more on the Spinosaurus, too many other projects and university stuff got in the way.
