I love the subtle red in the head markings of the middle one! I think that one's my favourite!

fabricious

Thanks! After I made the two versions, I was actually thinking of the middle one being the general coloring and the bottom one being the display colors during mating season (to throw off the female at first, so she doesn't eat him, haha). :) I want to make a version with blue markings as well, we'll see how that works out!

Lookin good. I like the middle one myself.

I am not a theropod person and hate t rex especially but I am very fond of that middle coloring palette....its gorgeous

Thanks guys! I am growing more and more attached to it myself... :D

spinosaurus1

their all gorgeous. i really like how subtle they look. i honestly can't decide which of the two i would favor most. great work

fabricious

Thank you!

I felt so inspired that I worked over my Saurophaganax model as well. Played around with colors a bit, now I definitely need some sleep...

Hehe, it's a Tron dinosaur!

Seriously though it looks wonderful! I would love to ride one into battle!

I was actually thinking of a dusk hunt! Might reduce the dark base a bit, but I like the eye marking. I was looking at birds, when I got the idea.

fabricious

Oh dear! I just realized I didn't show you guys the presentation picture for the female T. rex! Well, here it is (a few tweaks need to be made, but otherwise I am quite happy with it):

Maybe I'll add a bit of a background to it, depends on what I can come up with.

I also started re-doing my male Pachyrhinosaurus canadensis model, due to a lot of inaccuracies that I only just got to notice and understand. I guess that's what happens after you do a couple of dinosaurs. :)

I will be re-texturing the frill and most of the upper body with larger scales/scutes, as well as a few bristles or spikes. He will then be getting a proper color coat, a few new poses and a proper presentation (since it is one of my most favorite ceratopsians to date). I hope you enjoy all the nonsense I am posting here! ;)

Blade-of-the-Moon

There's no sense like nonsense..lol

Both look good to me. Though the horns? Over the eyes of the female Rex instantly make me think Gorgosaurus.. heh

Haha, yeah, in this image they kind of look similar! :D But they actually extend to the side rather than the front and are bulkier. In the male, I will make them a bit more prominent.

fabricious

A comparison image of the old and the new Pachy. I like the newer shape much better, but I already cut off the 'tip' of the nasal horn. It looked too silly, in my opinion.

That T. rex render is really great - it looks like it could be straight out of a video game or documentary!

fabricious

Wow, thank you, that is quite the compliment!

fabricious

Apparently, I've been quite on a roll this evening. Some work on 'Phagon', the male Saurophaganax! Looking more natural now, I think.

Uh, but after looking at the screenshots... might change the dark stripe, that is coming from the eyes, a bit. Looks like it's got too much of a knee in it.
