This thread will be used to outline administrative decisions where we feel it is important for members to be informed. Hopefully this is a thread that won't be used much.

I've created this topic to explain a decision the moderators made recently with regard to forum member Simon, who has been evading a forum ban issued to him several years ago (under the name of Bucketfoot-Al). We don't approve of this deception and we are re-banning Simon/Bucketfoot-Al. However, as a special case, we have also concluded that the ban will be only temporary - for a month (30 days). We take this lenient course of action to acknowledge that Simon has been an active part of the community, and that despite the deception, he has abided by the forum rules over the last five years or so. We trust that he will continue to do so when he returns. This is an unusual situation and it was not an easy decision to make, but we hope it is in the best interests of the community.
