Thanks to our admin for the great Youtube clip!  I asked my  kids to choose their favorites and the picked the rest myself. Not easy as all the entries are very good!
Check out my new Spinosaurus figure: http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=5099.0

Quite the lineup this year!  And this must be the must diverse assemblage we've ever had, there's all sorts of figures and set ups.  Normally one type of diorama tends to dominate, but there are strong contenders in all categories this year!

Best of luck to all! :D

Wow.  This must be the most entries I have ever seen.  Funny, but I didn't see a single new Battat in there.  My guess is that most of these were shot prior to the Terra release.

Well, if one were to pick a "Best Actor" from all of the entries, the running Papo TRex would win hand-down.  What a photogenic fellow!

I will say that, unlike past years, to me there is no clear favorite here.  I think there are a number of strong contenders that could win.  8 choices per voter also seems to be higher than in past years, which helped me to avoid having to cut out one that I really liked from my ballot.

I do want to mention one particular piece.  Please understand that the following comment does NOT imply that I think that this is the best one.

#17 Starving in North Africa ought to win a special, shall we say "Willis O'Brien Award".  (He was the animator of the original 1933 King Kong.)  It looks so retro that it might as well be taken from an old poster for O'Brien's "Lost World" or "King Kong".  Marvelous work.  Looks just like a stop motion animation scene.

A reminder: "please don't discuss which dioramas you voted for until after the poll closes"

I'll edit posts that do.

We think you have summed up this year's contest extremely well.  Some tremendous entries and overall the quality of all the entries is most impressive.  It is going to be a hard job voting.

Everything_Dinosaur

As sponsor (Everything Dinosaur), you can be assured that we have been very impressed with the range, diversity and quality of all the entries this year.  Our congratulations to you.

laticauda

Just watched the Youtube video, very nice!  It displayed everyones work, set with dramatic music, check it out!

Crackington

Really enjoyed the dioramas so well done to everyone. Agree with Simon that there isn't one clear stand-out this year, there are several! I also liked the quirkier ones too, there are some good imaginations out there!

Turret

Lots of different entries this year, hard to decide witch ones to vote for. I hope mine does better than last years. :)
I noticed there seems to be more photoshop than last year.

Hynerpeton

Don't hate me for saying this. But I don't think photoshop should be allowed.
Walking With Monsers:
[about Lystrosaurus] Astonishingly, their vast herds make up more than half of all life on Earth. Never again will a single species do so well.

Walking With Monsters: (Hynerpeton) To avoid injury the males demonstrate their strength  in a strange  push up contest.

There is a separate thread for general diorama contest discussion.

What is the thread? I will post the comment there instead. Sorry. :( ;)

How come we can't see the lines that show how many votes the dioramas have yet?

Because its double top secrect highly classified intel for need to know basis only !!!!! :)) :)) :))
Authors with varying competence have suggested dinosaurs disappeared because of meteorites...God's will, raids by little green hunters in flying saucers, lack of standing room in Noah's Ark, and palaeoweltschmerz—Glenn Jepsen

stargatedalek

because its more incentive for someone to cheat if they see they are doing badly

amargasaurus cazaui

I think it also avoids the pile on method of voting if someone isnt sure what to vte.....they might see how everyone else did and go, sure that works.
