I'm not really big on desiring prehistoric versions of modern reptiles, but I think this one will be fun to get because of the bendy wire feature. I guess it is time for me to research this one, since I don't even know what it was contemporary with.

It will serve as a serpentine for use at parties such as the Day of the Innocents or as a figure to wear in the Carnival regardless of whether it can be a great figure (it's just a joke).  ;D

Anyway if it is flexible I suppose that it will be easy to keep it in any part rolled up considering that it can measure by what I understood a meter and a half.  :)

Lanthanotus

I don't know much about Titanoboa, but somehow I feel that this head is not even remotely resemblying the head of the actual animal. This one looks more like a horrified version of a modern Botriechis or similar venomous snake, it certainly fails to look anything like a member of the Boidae.

AcroSauroTaurus

And, they messed up the head, just as I thought they would. ::) Looks nothing like the head of a constrictor snake... Rebor can't make anything accurate, no matter what they do. Their figures are really cool looking, but can never stick to scientific accuracy. Which is a shame because they have so much potential.

I wonder what excuse they have up there sleeves for those who wish to contest the head.

Not saying I think the heads accurate, but the skull isn't exactly a typical boa skull anyway...

That and it's huge. No it isn't "HUUUUUUUGE" length wise compared to modern snakes, but it was a fairly bulky snake especially for its size. The scale pattern just isn't going to look like extant constrictors.

ZoPteryx

As others have said, looking more like a Titanoviper than a Titanoboa.  And is it really going to be 1.5 meters long?!  That's like 1:15 scale or something.  I feel like the point is just to make it big enough to wrap around the dinosaurs for a fierce but heavily disproportionate diorama.  :-\

The truth would be that it was on a much smaller scale. I agree with you is an exaggerated and disproportionate size for a collection figure or a dinosaur toy and in this case prehistoric animal specifically prehistoric reptile.

Faelrin

So in regards to the Titanoboa, I saw on Rebor's FB page that they based the head off an Anaconda's, but they just added "angry eyebrows" to it. It will also be in 1:35 scale like some of their other figures. I guess people were just misinterpreting that 1.5 thing in the one image (perhaps they meant zoomed in x1.5?). Either way I'm still excited for this one. I imagine it would be fun if it had an articulated jaw as well as the bendy wire feature to pose it eating something.

He has given a statement Rebor and the figure of the titanoboa is a 56 centimeters. That is not to say that it is still quite large yet, but it is more accessible and affordable both to have it at home and to purchase.

Heavily anachronistic too.

lol true. Titanoboa appeared right after the dinosaurs. but since REBOR's wont look like the real extinct snake anyway...

Yeah, you can always pretend it is a yet-to-be-discovered giant snake that lived with dinosaurs. Since it is going to resemble an anaconda I wonder if they'll call it "Jennifer", or "Lopez". Or "Jennifer Lopez".

Honestly, that snake eating a sauropod is the kind of crazy fun I would have enjoyed as a kid playing with my toys, but I never had the right ones to do something like that. I also watched that movie way back when. Wasn't the snake(s) in that a bit oversized?

Oh of course it was. They always take the maximum size and add to it in those things. When I look at the sauropod pic I think juvenile.

Haha, they're talking about the movie Anaconda. It featured Jennifer Lopez getting preyed upon by a 50 ft red and black snake that didn't even resemble an Anaconda in passing (now that I think about it, the movie monster and rebor's Boa look a lot alike).
