Found this on eBay, listed as a pre-order.  There seems to be two Allosaurs and two Tyrannosaurs from the same seller.  They're pre-painted, so it seems unlikely that they're re-casts, no?  :-\

Given the release date and the word 'dinotales', might these be Dinosaur Expo figures? Or something reltaed to that?

:o :o Shocking stuff!!! ....... and great too, of course ;D.
It looks as if they've redone the Allosaurus' teeth completely (which was the only minus with the old version).
The paintjobs also look much better than the old pre-painted models.

Now the question is: Will they also re-release the Brachiosaurus :D :)) :o??? ..... I'd finally need a new apartment then.

Hmm..it does look like a re-release and they are doing so under the Dinotales brand name.  It does say 1/20 and the seller has excellent feedback. I've also never seen those pics before..so I'd say it's true..but I'll check some more as well.  This would be great news, I don't have this Allo or the bigger Rexes but always wanted them.

Edit : It is true . Word from my sources are these 2 pieces are being re-released pre-built and pre-painted in June in the two colors shown from the seller above, green and brown.

Have to say I'm not digging the re-sculpted head on the Tyrannosaur :

Looks too smooth or something.

The Allosaurus though looks a lot better :

I think I'll get both versions of that one.. ;D

Darko2300

Wow Blade, thanks for the quick legwork.  I've always been a bit more partial to the Allosaurus myself, so this is exciting!  ;D

postsaurischian

Very exciting ;D! Allosaurus (green/grey version) >>> WANT!!

Looks like they are offering the bellowing TRex and Allosaurus in 2 colors each - and the teeth appear to have been re-moulded to look more realistic.  Kaiyodo museum store, eh?  I'll bookmark it and see what else turns up!!

No problem , I was pretty excited. These have been on my WANT list for awhile now.. ;)

I've already pre-ordered both versions of the Allosaurus .. ;D

The Rex just bugs me..I've wanted that one for years..but the head and teeth look a little..cheap ? Like a bad figure. All that great detail gone. :(

It's also odd the one the guy is holding looks better than the actual prototype pieces.. :?

Darko2300

It's funny I thought the same thing. Maybe he's holding the original version? As in "look what we're bringing back...from way back." Compare/contrast old/new versions, ect.? *shrugs* Oh well, I was always an Allosaurus man myself.  I mean what's up with only 2 fingers?   ;D

Good possibility..hope if they make more they will stick to the old versions as much as possible.

I know right ? ;D 3 is better than 2 any day.. lol  ^-^

Ooooooo!!!
I've always wanted the allosaurus!
My living room smells like old plastic dinosaur toys... Better than air freshener!

Looks like this is a very good year for re-releases. I hope to get at least one of these.

Blade-of-the-Moon

To start off don't order them from eBay..I get my pieces from Hobby Link Japan :

Brown Allo : https://secure.hlj.com/product/KYD00018
Green Allo : https://secure.hlj.com/product/KYD00019

The Tyrannosaurus pieces are there as well.

They are MUCH cheaper than that seller has them listed for. ;)

Excellent, thanks for posting, Chris! :) I've just placed my preorder. HLJ is also highly recommended, not only for their reasonable prices but also good customer service. Now there's one more thing that comes to mind, I remember that blackdanter had posted a Dinoland catalogue here on v.1:

Is it just a coincidence that the re-released Tyrannosaurus and Allosaurus are the first two on this catalogue page? ??? Or (which would almost be too good to be true) is this just the beginning of a re-release of the entire Dinoland series? :o Let's all keep our fingers crossed that we will eventually see the Anchiceratops and Triceratops next... with all others following every now and then... :) 8)

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a T-rex by Krentz? My friends all have Sideshow, I must make amends.

Glad to have helped ! That seller was way over priced...lol Re-releases might devalue the originals a bit..but I only have 3 so I'm not too worried. To paraphrase a certain dino-loving millionaire " This wasn't meant to cater only to the super rich, everyone in the world should have the opportunity to enjoy these animals. " ;D

Hmm..I think all of them were once released as prepainted pieces..if that's right then we could indeed see the whole line re-issued. Of course if they keep changing them like with the Bellowing Rex I may be forced to pass. :/

I'm not sure what order they were released in originally either..I was pretty young at the time and had no way to look it up.

That would spell my doom altogether. One way or another.

Your own personal extinction event eh ? lol

brontodocus

Or is it because available space is an issue? If they re-release all of the 1:20 versions (so that's twelve altogether?) I guess I'm not the only one who will most likely buy them all (although I'll probably stick to only one paint version). Thinking of the possibility to get the whole 1:20 series for perhaps a little over €300/$400 would probably drive all available shelf space to extinction... ;D And they've only just begun. What are we supposed to do when they also start reoffering the Aqualand series? We're doomed! :'( >:D
