And another game based off of Jurassic Park Operation Genesis. However, this one is specifically a spiritual successor to the previous game. They are going to have outdated Jurassic Park Models for those that like them and far more accurate, but still not quite there, models for those that care. All of their models seem a little too shrink-wrapped for my taste and also a little too muscly or something....to each their own I guess

I've been following this game for a few weeks now. It seems quite good. Unfortunately, my and several others' reaching out to their team concerning the inaccurate feet on their Alamosaurus seems to have gotten nowhere...  :-\

I have one thing to say about that alamosaurus; Dino-ball-z.

Oh yay.  Another dinosaur game that won't ever come out on consoles.  Why is it to get my digital dinosaur fix I need a high end computer?  Seems like the only dinosaur games that come out on consoles are the ones where you're hunting and killing dinosaurs.
I'm excited for REBOR's Acro!  Can't ya tell?

It's because it's extremely easy to makes games available for PCs compared to on consoles. Aside from needing specific tools and whatnot to actually make console games (which you need to ask the console manufacturer for), there's a fair few hoops to jump through in order to get something available on a console. As much as you also need programs to create PC games, they're far easier to obtain, and there's also no end of publishing options, Steam of course being the most notable one because it publishes just about anything regardless of quality.

As for Mesozoica, it honestly just doesn't interest me that much. I guess maybe that's because Prehistoric Kingdom is a similar thing that's also happening, but equally likely it's because I'm more interested in a zoo of realistic dinosaurs rather than JP-style ones.

Totally not I. Rex nopenope

CityRaptor

What Dinosaur is that Indominus supposed to mean?
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Just watched a lifestream for Mesozoica and they do not want to do other prehistoric animals like Canis Dirus and Megalodon just because they aren't "interesting" enough. That seems a bit off to me.

They actually did a megalodon, and an entelodon. To be frank they are hideous, the entelodon looks like it should be from Dead Space.

They did, but they basically stated they didn't want to make them because they weren't "cool" enough. You are right about that entelodont; absolutely hideous!

That's really odd that they should feel that way, and then have them turn out like they did. There's some huge inconsistencies in the modelling, some of these actually look really nice, and others are just so extremely metal that I can't even imagine seeing them in something like Dino Crisis.

Brontozaurus

They've got a kickstarter going now. It's reached about halfway to its goal. I don't intend to support it, though, for reasons I've written about here. The TL;DR version is that not only is it very dubious in a scientific sense, there's a lot going on behind the scenes that makes it doubtful whether it could be good, or even made at all.

I was planning on funding them with a little bit of money, but you've made me reconsider it and I'll read your post!

I'm looking foward to Prehistoric Kingdom, anyway, which seems to be much more realistic.

EDIT: Oops, what a terrible mistake. Fixed it.

DinoLord

Yeah, I had high hopes for Mesozoica initially but after seeing multiple examples of the developers' continuous blatant disregard of science I'm not very enthusiastic. I too support Prehistoric Kingdom, who don't rush things and pay attention to science and gameplay nuance.
