Somthing I really wanted to see were the other 4 carnivores that they had, as mentioned by grey at the beginning.

Also, it seemed the aviary was in the restricted area? I might be wrong though.

Oh and it was blue at the end, you can see his stripes when owen sets him free.

According to the map, the aviary is on the border of the restricted area...or almost.

I think leaving a few things open is good, I mean we know there are more carnivores and herbivores now we just have to fit them in JW2 right?

Yeah I saw the map on jw website and saw I was wrong.

Well, maybe, I hope they are good carnivores I know 1 of them is dilo, and another is baryonx. Hopefully there is a 2nd movie!  ;D

Hmmm well if you go by what had appeared in other movies there is possibly dilophosaurus, of which they had a hologram, so they are probably still in the park, they had a spinosaurus skeleton so they may have on display,

Two more might be ceratosaurus or compognathus(though the may not count him)

And then t-rex was there I'm not sure any raptors were on display so they probably were not counting them in the brochure,

And did they say species or dinosaur species? Cause mosasaur could be on that list.

There was Baryonyx, Suchomimus, and Metriacanthasaurus listed as animals in the park as well!

They were in promotional material? Or were they actually mentioned in the most recent movie?

I don't know if this is just a rumor, but my daughter just told me that Chris Pratt has signed on for the JW sequel (Time Magazine online).

Read the article, it might just be a joke,  but at the rate the movie's going at the box office, the possibility of a sequel is huge.

Baryonyx, Suchomimus, and Metriacanthasaurus are cannon, though they are not mentioned.

It is true.

Just saw my first screening tonight. Loved it! Of all the sequels, this one definitely brought back the closest feelings I had with the original. I really did enjoy the entire film. I thought I would have problems with the retro looks of some of the dinos. But once the movie sucks you in, all the nit-picking prior to seeing it just went right out the door. I am curious now after seeing it and letting it soak in a bit, why they chose to do more retro looks. Did anyone ever hear any reasons? Although, I do accept it in the movie. You can write off any changes do to the fact of them having more advanced knowledge of gene-splicing, and of course the outside DNA they still need for fillers. But I'm just curious why this director wanted more of a retro look for a lot of the animals. Thinking back now, the ones that stand out in my memory are the Stegosaurus and the Apatosaurus. I don't know why they changed the design of the Stegos from The Lost World. Besides being too big, I thought they were very modern-day-thinking in their design. These in this film were back to having grass-swishing tails and large heads. They were still believable as living animals, just very retro in style. And the Apatosaurs, even though their tails didn't drag on the ground behind them, still had an overall retro look to them. Also, the old elephant-style feet, of course, were very noticeable especially on the Stegos and Trikes. But hey, some of the better toy lines still get feet wrong! ;)

On a very positive note, I thought they did the eyes on all the animals very realistically, especially when viewed in closeups. They looked amazing!

The only other thing I thought wasn't quite as good as I had hoped was the music. It served the action scenes well enough. But every time one of John Williams' grand themes came on, you just knew how much better they were. I left the theatre not being able to hum back any new themes of music. So, that was a little disappointing for me, being a musician.

Anyway, all-in-all I thoroughly enjoyed this entry in the franchise. For me now, I would rank Jurassic World only under the first original film. I can honestly say now with much enthusiasm, I am excited all over again for more sequels to be added to the JP franchise. Bring them on! :))

I was just thinking....wasn't there supposed to be some development for the I.rex? I recall it being said that it was supposed to be a Frankenstein's monster type creation. Most of the time it just seemed like a mindless killer.  The only thing I can think of that is somewhat tragic is the mournful wail it made when it was dragged underwater by the mosasaur.

I think the buildup/background for the indominus was the short scene where Owen points out that the animal is in isolation and only knows to respond to the crane. It wasn't much though, as I would have liked some longer buildup like the raptors had in the original.

I did feel sorry a bit for the Indominus, everything was "new" and "exciting" for her. Her cage is also quite too small for a creature her size, so all that pent-up frustration and wham! She parties the first time she gets a chance. :P

Dobber

Yup, as Owen said in the movie she's finding out where she fits in the food chain so she just '"bullies" everything because she thinks she can.

Sign of the times...went on sunday evening to a large theater about twenty miles away to see the movie...all showings @ 6,7 and again at 9, sold out. Not just the Imax and 3D , all showings period. Wound up watching San Andreas with my friends and wondering when and if I will get to see this one.

I have no fondness for sociopaths. I was very happy to see Hoskins splattered over the glass and I hope that Mosasaur tore up that POS I.rex into nothing but ripped up flesh and bones.
How anyone feels bad for the I.rex is beyond me, no offense.

Those poor Apatosaurs...I literally was tearing up to see one of my favorite dinosaurs all slashed up by a sociopathic, insane monster.

alexeratops

Why are all the big dinos like Rexy and Indominus a she, and a few raptors are boys? Aren't they all supposed to be one gender?
