QuoteI understand that there are people who like the paintjobs of these three figures and buy them as they are.

I'm afraid that I'm one of them ;P  I consider these raptors like the old pokemon shinies from my childhood, and while other people might not of liked them, I loved them like the rest of my collection. They might not be the most realistic or best colors, but that just adds to the charm for me.

QuoteI'm hoping some reviews of these fine feathered furies are submitted soon!

I've subbed to several toy reviewers JUST for them to review these XD

I agree with Sim, I'm really disappointed that the coloring on at least the 2 bonus Velocirators wasn't fixed. I do still have the Blue Velociraptor O. ordered but not the others....and honestly not that thrilled with it either but since it is a limited release I ordered it anyway.

Baalur's pose looks perfect too...best I've seen yet.

+1 here on the random feathers. I'm not fond of them either, but it is probably too late to change at this point.

I've been giving this some thought, but I'm not really fond of the deco sample of the red variant after all. It looks gaudier then the prototype of it (at least in some of the images). I also don't like how it looks when alongside the desert pack, because of how bright it looks in comparison, and I want what I ordered to match together as best as possible. I'm honestly thinking of changing it to something else if I can. Maybe the roadrunner Saurornitholestes instead, since I did really love how the prototype turned out when I went to Jerseyfest last year (which I know is not the same as the deco sample, but close enough I guess), in part because of the pretty iridescence.

In any case I'm really grateful for all these photo galleries. Aside from seeing all the neat posing options the articulation provides, I'm really glad we get to see what the final products will look like (give or take some additional changes).

Honestly I'm hoping to do some reviews on these once I get them. I really would like to contribute to the blog at least with mine, since I did get quite a number.

Welp, here's a gallary for Pyroraptor. There is an upper bite, but David said that he would fix it.

acro-man

I wonder if these action figures can do the pose that Rebor spring heeled Jack does, i.e. airbourne jumping attack.
So far they have been doing usual things like running, chasing, eating, standing.
Let's test the true virtue of articulation.

Sorry if this was discussed/demonstrated before, cos I can't see Fb pics.

Great models great accuracy as well just not fan of those joints, would be nice if there would be a long for desktop models over these jointed things.
But I guess that would be too cost consuming production wise.

They look great and all, but with the joints being less than inconspicuous, David Silvas models will truly shine with the advent of the ceratopsians series. The ceratopsians are made for stuff like this.

Faelrin

They are fully intended to be action figures, not models. There is a serious lack of high quality, highly articulated dinosaur action figures on the market which is why these are what they are, and why they were made in the first place. So for collector's like me, that enjoy collecting high quality highly articulated action figures, we will finally be able to add some dinosaur action figures to the collection beyond JP figures and such. Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy good models as the next person, but they clearly dominate the market for dinosaur (and other prehistoric creature) figures, which leaves those looking for prehistoric action figures wanting more, but now with these being made, this fills that gap (or at least it is beginning too).

Seams are kind of inevitable on something like this. I think David did a great job with designing the joints on them. I've seen previous creature action figures that have the pins (and/or screw holes), that are exposed which really detracts from how natural they could look otherwise, especially on a good sculpt.

David is releasing model kit versions that will not have joints.  If you actually want a Deinonychus that's the only way to get one from him : http://creative-beast.com/?p=430

I prefer these a bit more because i can actually play with them, being able to come up with  and study so many possible poses and scenes can only help an artist as well.  ;)

ImADinosaurRARR

The blue Velociraptor osmolskae! I don't care whay you guys say, I cant wait for this guy to arrive. I love this guy's poses. Very fluid and JP concept art like.

Great sculpts, all of them. I can only imagine how good a line of PVC figures from David Silva could be.

You mean this dude?

EDIT: I don't think it is what you were talking about. It's a model kit.

Think if that was a PVC figure. And think of an entire line, with David Silva's kits in mind.

I don't agree with this.  On the feathered figures, feathers help disguise most of the joints.  In contrast, there are no feathers on the Xenoceratops sculpt and most of its joints only look like conspicuous joints.  I think David has generally done a very a good job at reducing the visibility of the joints on both the theropods and the Xenoceratops.  Though I do think on the raptor figures the tail should have been one piece, not having that separate small tail base part.  And that Dromaeosaurus and Zhenyuanlong should've had a single new back half of the body instead of a "pelvis part" being glued on to the back half of the body.

ImADinosaurRARR

The Fans Choice Zhenyuanlong came out WAY better then expected. I must admit, I was alway's put off by the Zhenyuanlong's colouration. But seeing the two variants together, they really work well as male and female of the same species.

LeapingLaelaps

When I originally saw that he was going to base the fan's choice coloration on a hornbill I was... Not very excited for it. But he made it look FANTASTIC

...I also have a terrible confession to make. Uh, I went a bit overboard...
I ordered every single raptor (minus the blue osmolskae), hatchling, accessory pack, plus one build-a-raptor set. I also ordered another velociraptor m. for my dad's birthday (probably won't get here in time but he already got himself an early present, he can wait for this one  :P)

Not sure if I'll be keeping all of them but uh. Yeah. I'm going to need a lot of shelves.

I can't help but think the white nestling is cheering the FC Dromaeosaurus on. Can't wait to see more pics of those.

I also like how nice the Pyroraptors look together. They really could make for a female and male pair with the way their colors are. Same goes for the two Dromaeosaurus.

Wouldn't blame it. Looked like the Pyro was about to eat them XD
