Alright, my raptors and I have had ample time to settle in and get used to each other, so here are a few (overdue) images to show them off I had planned...
Great pics, love the poses!

Minmiminime

They are great pics! These models are something else; well the three I've opened certainly are, my blue one is still in the box, but I will inevitably give in to the temptation to liberate her!! They're not perfect by any means though...

My Fan's Choice Saurornitholestes and my Tsaagan both suffer a little from both stiff and loose joints, and so far all three including my original Velociraptor spend a lot of time sitting on their behinds because I've just not got around to properly posing them in a way that they're stable. They're all still spending a lot of time being carried around and perched on things so I can look at them while I'm busy. Also, in all three I've swapped to the "running" toes so that the feet can be planted flat, rather than them being on tip-toes like an ungulate. It's not ideal, but I prefer it for sedentary poses!

The Velociraptor is very scuffed, particularly around the head but I'm not too worried about it; I put it down to her "moulting" 😉 The paintwork actually seems to be pretty robust, so they must have undergone some violence in the factory to have ended up as scuffed as they are, but hopefully the condition will now not get any worse.

The desert accessory pack and hatchlings are spot on, but the Mononykus tends to lean and fall over on that fine little ankle, so he's spending a lot of time sitting in the branches of a small money plant..!

But without a doubt, they're among the most striking dinosaurs in my collection, and they're certainly the most fun!

My Velociraptor's leg broke at the knee as soon as I took it out of the box, and David sent me a new one (leg, not Velociraptor) within days. If you are having any quality issues, let him know. He might be able to help.

I left the Kickstarter exclusive in the box, but the other ones look down at my work area from my bookcase. The little Troodon, though, lives on my desk. I would absolutely love a full sized version of him.

Oof. I've always been nervous about those legs. Good to know I'm not just paranoid. Also glad to hear you were able to get a replacement leg.

Well, the joint was locked up, and trying to move it snapped the post. After it broke, I was going to try to fix it with a metal post, but even after drilling into with a pin vice, I couldn't get it to move. I even stuck an ice pick in there and tried to turn it. Mr Silva suggested I use it as meat, but I just glued it back on until the new one came.

Yeah, several of mine have highly resistant knees. I'm just letting those be a little arthritic rather than testing the robustness of the joints.

Okay, I need to be honest here: the display rods kind of suck. The raptors are very front-heavy, so it's hard to balance them without a sturdy support/grip - neither of which the rods & handles are very good at. The handle for at least one raptor is gaining stress fractures just from the raptor repeatedly falling over when it gets jostled.
I definitely plan to invest in some more sturdy display rods in the future. Are there any that might fit with the bases?

I've found that the raptors' loose ankles don't help either. Almost all of mine have weak ankles, and getting them into standing poses they'll actually hold can be tough even with the posing rods in place. If their legs joints were more stable all around, I think that would've done at least something for their sturdiness when on display.

I'm just so happy I battled successfully with the initial urge - and didn't buy any of those ...

Fembrogon

Don't get me wrong, I still think these are great figures; they're just not perfect, and their supplements much less so.
Balancing aside, all my raptors have been standing tall on my headboard in my room, and they look lovely.

Minmiminime

Aye, most of mine spend a lot of time sitting on the coffee table! They are very tricky to balance, some joints are very stubborn, others are too loose, but the main pleasure I get from them is handling and posing them in my hand. I'm very glad to have them!

While I agree that the rods could be better, I haven't really had too much issue posing the raptors with them. I've managed to get some really great poses with my Linheraptor by turning the rod sideways, having the bit that clips onto the raptor being between the pubis and the leg and the raptor using that part of the rod that sticks out sideways as a support. I do something similar with my Velociraptor.

Shadowknight1

The rods aren't good for dynamic poses, at least not for long term.  The support is fine, that's how my Adasaurus is standing, but for jumping or other dynamic poses, you have to use the clip, which is impossible for Dromaeosaurus and Zhenyuanlong, and the clips aren't very sturdy, breaking without much pressure.
I'm excited for REBOR's Acro!  Can't ya tell?

Great news for people who've been trying to get a hold of this one ;)

On facebook:
"For those who followed my Beasts of the Mesozoic: Raptor Series Kickstarter campaign, you may remember me teasing an image at the end of my last update. With preparations now under way to begin the next production run, I feel it's time to reveal the image and thus announce one of the new additions to the line- the 'Roadrunner' Sauronitholestes sullivani (aka. accelerati incredibilus)! And with that, here's the awesome new package art for the figure done once again by the amazing Jonathan Kuo!

For another look at the figure itself, here's the full album, complete with paint tutorial: https://www.facebook.com/pg/BeastSculptKit/photos/?tab=album&album_id=2112937872054740"

Is a figure like this actually legal? I'm just wondering since he kinda openly admits that it uses colours from another character and even kinda names it after the character it borrows colours from? I mean, I'm not really offended by this figure by any means, but I can't help but wonder...

I mean, it's much less "borrowing" than the blatant rip-offs of Jurassic Park designs many companies such as Rebor and Papo engage in.

Fembrogon

I suppose this could fall under "parody", so IF someone at Warner Bros. took offense, David Silva could plead such.
I doubt it would actually be an issue, though.
