David Silvas New Kickstarter: Articulated Dinosaur TOYS

I've shared a bit more of my thoughts on why I think it would be great for the Velociraptor figure to have longer secondaries (the feathers on its forearm parts) in a new comment on Kickstarter (first comment): https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/creativebeast/beasts-of-the-mesozoic-raptor-series-action-figure/comments?cursor=14274045#comment-14274044

Like I said there, I'm planning to get the Velociraptor even if the secondaries aren't changed as I like the figure, and it's the most accurate toy version of my favourite dinosaur.  However, aesthetically, I think the Velociraptor would look better with the now-unused Balaur secondaries. I think they would make its wings look more impressive, and the pointy secondaries would go well with the pointy primaries of the Velociraptor. And, those secondaries would probably make the Velociraptor more accurate too due to Velociraptor mongoliensis having quill knobs.  They would give the Velociraptor wings the same shape as what is seen on the Dromaeosaurus prototypes (the final toy versions of Dromaeosaurus will have secondaries that are a bit longer): https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CqopjEAWYAAetPZ.jpg:large

I've seen some nice modern Velociraptor reconstructions with longer secondaries like the ones below, which do make me think the secondaries the Velociraptor figure currently has are just too small.

There's even some iridescence on the tail feathers, which I always found hard to notice even on living roadrunners in my yard growing up.

New FC Zhenyuanlong pic, also David is taking a little break, he deserves it.
"And just a quick note- I will be heading out on vacation for the weekend, so my internet activity will be limited. But for those who have been contacting me or have had questions, I apologize for the late responses. I plan what internet time I do have to respond to everyone while I'm away."
Have a great weekend everyone!

Meh, I never was interested in this FC, while it does look nice it looks similar the FC Pyroraptor, which I prefer. This one is an easy pass for me.

A different angle of the zhenyuanlong really secures my choice on purchasing it. Is it just me or does the FC tibia seem longer than the original one?

Jeez, I think this could actually be my favourite colour scheme so far. The S. Langstoni looks amazing, but the colours on this Zhen are kind of blowing my mind. I think it's the hints of blue, they just send the whole thing to the moon for me. I was really dissapointed with the standard Zhen, but this changes everything. I can't believe I'm saying this, but this one might have to replace Balaur as my add on raptor.

I honestly never noticed the blue when I went to JerseyFest. It looks great on it (especially the eyes). In fact I regret overlooking this one now, when I went, since I had to stare at the beautiful kestrel Dromaeosaurus and roadrunner Saurornitholestes next to it, plus all the others there, instead. I do still prefer the original, but I won't deny that this is a good addition (especially combined with that beautiful packaging art), as the others are.

I like almost all of the figures and color choices to be honest, my favorites are the kestrel Dromaeosaurus and the Linheraptor, the Zhenyuanlong comes third for me. Sadly I tried to make the preorder of one and neither of my 2 cards worked.

Shadowknight1

Well, I think my choice is made.  I'm going for Velociraptor mongoliensis, Adasaurus mongoliensis, and Zhenyuanlong suni.  It was a hard choice between Adasaurus and the kestral Dromaeosaurus, and I'll have to ignore the temptation to add a fourth raptor to the herd, especially since I'm getting the accessory pack with Microraptor...but it's a hard temptation to ignore.
I'm excited for REBOR's Acro!  Can't ya tell?

The zhenyuanlong isn't at all a bad figure, but i feel like it was a missed opportunity. David could've sculpted the two types of tibia by one long and one short. The head I don't really mind anymore, but the secondaries are still bugging me a little. Might get balaur instead, who knows. ^-^

Now that all the raptors are revealed, I've decided to get Tsaagan, Dromaeosaurus, Balaur, FC Pyroraptor, and the desert pack. It was tough, but I realised those were the three mainline raptors I wanted to get. I like Pyroraptor the most out of the FC figures cause the black and orange looks appropriate for the fire thief (plus that card art is amazing). And the desert pack has Mononykus in it, which is pretty unique as far as dinosaur toys go.
