I recently discovered an in-development dinosaur hunting game called Wrath of the Goliaths. They even have  aquatic hunting planned! Here's their Facebook page and forum. The developers seem very responsive to feedback, so it's definitely worth getting involved if you're interested.

Here are some of their models, designed by Deviantart user Manuelsaurus (also responsible for some of the Prehistoric Kingdom models):

Allosaurus and Stegosaurus:

Carcharadontosaurus:

Elasmosaurus:

Majungasaurus:

Mosasaurus:

Prestosuchus:

Sauroposeidon:

Spinosaurus:

Triceratops:

Tyrannosaurus:

Utahraptor:

Halichoeres

Those look pretty good, on the whole!
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Wonderful, Utahraptor is awesome  :o.
[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

I was on board until I came to the knuckle-walking Spinosaurus.    :o :o :o

No.  It did not do that.  It had larger legs than that illustration and could walk upright.   >:( >:( >:(

Otherwise the reconstructions are pretty awesome and accurate!  ;D ;D ;D

Arul

Cool can we play this in ipad ?

Simon, the game will have two different Spinosaurus, with one presumably being a bipedal version. I just figured the quadriped one would be a bit more well-received.

I like the idea that Spinosaurus was capable of walking on all fours but with a minimum amount of weight placed on its front limbs, similar to the posture of a pangolin.

Or perhaps it walked on its forearms like a giant sloth.

You thought wrong.   ;)

I don't think that there is anyone who believes the "knuckle-walking' Spinosaurus nonsense.  Yes, it is nonsense, because unless the Spino's arms were different from all other Spinosaurids' arms (they haven't found a complete set yet) there is no way they could support the weight.  Its patently ridiculous.  Plus there is the issue of the scaling of the back legs, the composite skeleton reconstruction which is highly speculative, etc.

Yes, the legs appear to have been significantly smaller than in other Spinosaurids, but they still look perfectly functional to me.

What I do find amazing is how accurate the above Spinosaurus is.  These guys really are "worth their mettle".

(Someone please send the above photo to Mr. Ibrahim, et al.  It will help clear up his confusion.)

I really like the dinosaur models, I hope the dinosaurs will interact with each other.

I think you're being overly harsh on Ibrahim and his reconstruction, Simon. He has done an excellent job of responding to critics, including clearing up the mistaken notion that the hind limbs aren't scaled properly. Sending him that image wouldn't accomplish a thing, other than possibly make him think you haven't been paying attention to the discourse.

And you admitted yourself that no one has found a complete set of Spinosaurus forelimbs. Until that comes to pass, it is not in keeping with the nature of paleontology to dismiss something as "patently ridiculous."

Point well taken ... just my curmudgeonly prosecutorial background coming out there ... but until a more complete single skeleton is found, we can continue applying "Occam's Razor" to some of the seemingly improbable hypotheses that surround this remarkable find.  Because it IS a remarkable find, and believing that the animal could walk on its hind legs on land does not for a minute diminish the truly remarkable aquatic evolutionary adaptation evident from the fossil ....

On another note, if someone did a Favorite-like line of figures using these dinosaur reconstructions as the model I would get back into collecting in a heartbeat!!!

The guys who created these images are not only first-rate artists, but they did their homework as well!!!

Did you leave because you were dissatisfied? Just curious.

I just got bored collecting pieces of plastic.  My interests have taken me in a different direction the past couple of years, so there was no point keeping a bunch of stuff that was just taking up space...especially when there were plenty of other people out there who would be happy to add my pieces to their collections...so I gave them the opportunity to do so ...

Some more photos of these dinos:

Pachyrhinosaurus

That acro looks familiar...  I haven't heard about this game before but judging from the models it will be a good one. The allosaurus is especially fantastic. I like the mosasaur design as well. The only thing bugging me are the dorsal spines on the T. rex but I guess that's just personal preference.

Very nice colours and patterns...I think I will bookmark this page for reference for future repaints >:D I'll give credit of course...:)

Good to see this! The main modeller is a good friend! Im working as ambient modeller creature and level designer.

Simon

Roland - Any chance your friend might create a few of these creatures as printable model kits on Shapeways or a similar website?  I tell you, these reconstructions are damn-near perfection!  Muscular, no "shrink-wrapped" skulls, the TRex is THE BEST reconstruction of this creature I have ever seen!

Please forward our appreciation to him and do ask him about possibly creating some Shapeways 1/40 scale model kits from these reconstructions.  I believe that there are a few members of this board who could help him do that.

Hey guys, I am the lead developer of Wrath Of The Goliaths: Dinosaurs.

I will answer a few questions to clear somethings up.

First, no unfortunately at the moment we cannot bring this game to Ipad as it is core developed for PC.

Secondly, we will be doing a crowdfunding campaign, and one of the reward tiers is choosing one from a select few of the dinosaurs to appear in Wrath Of The Goliaths to be 3-D printed and either unpainted or possibly Hand Painted. This tier may be pricey as it will be painted exactly as it appears in each render, and will be posed. However, give us an email, we may be able to get you an early print.

Third, the Spinosaurus walking on it's knuckles was a request from me. I'm far from an expert on dinosaurs, Manuel is the one who is on the team, but I thought that this would fit in. It would be a reasonable thing since there will be three variations of the Spinosaurus :) The Bipedal, Quadruped, and the old-reconstruction or The Jurassic Park style (I hope at least, it may resemble another reconstruction that is very similar to the JP3, but styled different)

And lastly, since we are doing crowdfunding, one of our goals is to bring it to console (at least as of now). I had originally hoped to bring it to the Wii U with Unity 5, but since the switch to another engine that lacks support for the Wii U. The Wii U version will either receive a different exclusive game, or an exclusive spin-off or sequel (if we are lucky with the reviews of the first game).

I'd love to hear more from you guys! I let Manuel, the artist of all the dinosaurs you've seen, know about all the praise you guys have send and I am sure this will make him very proud!

We love to hear all kinds of feedback, so please give me an email at: [email protected]
