What are you doing about outside advertising?

Outside the building, outside the Park, or outside the city, county, state ?  Seriously I'm asking.  :)

Outside the park.  What kind of attendance are you expecting at the park?

We need to get brochures done and out there..I have a couple museums in the area that have agreed to carry them.  I operate on mostly facebook traffic and word of mouth now. We also plan to take a dinosaur costume to parades and such.  We've done okay, I think this past Saturday we did 40 people or so.  I have church groups, birthday parties and hopefully school groups as well coming.

Sounds good, what type of Dinosaur costume do you have?

You have to ask ? lol  It's a juvenile Allosaurus.

Takama

New question. Your juvenile Allosaurus costume. Is it a Mascot Character Costume, or one of those ful body Dinosaur ones you see from time to time like this

We couldn't afford that..this one we're having made is already on the cheaper side at 1500.00 . This is what it will be like :

Just a juvenile Allosaur instead of a Raptor.

Not quite a Barney type mascot, but something more realistic and still in our meager budget.

Just received a great donation to help with our scaffolding cost which ended up being substantially more than I was expecting.  We have most of it set up  now and hope to finish paint work tomorrow !

Wow! I'm lovin' it!!
like a bantha!

Blade - That is looking awesome!  Just make sure you give her some bright colors on the crest and scutes above the eyes - red is a good choice!

P.S.  Is the statue going to be able to stand on its own or will the "support tree" remain???

stoneage

:)  That can be your centerpiece!

Blade-of-the-Moon

Thanks guys, the trees will remain as they are holding up most of the weight and balancing him.  Most places with something this size use fiberglass which is lighter weight and it would have a welded steel frame that could set into a poured concrete base. Ours has neither. ;)

I'll posting more pics in a bit, keep an eye out.

Pachyrhinosaurus

Simply amazing work! He's huge. Will the support trees be painted to look like trees?

They are painted ? Check out these pics :

This guy and the Triceratops might end up being a center piece...though we need 500.00 to start the Triceratops..his custom eyes alone are goign to be 125.00 plus shipping per my quote.

The scaffolding rental set us back pretty good..367.00 to rent that and we only used it one day. :/

You'd be more than welcome to visit us ! All DTFers are more than welcome to come and see this place when they can. :)  Let me know when you can come and I can point out the places to eat, other local attractions and such.

You know what?  Watching you build that thing on the forum was something different. It brings me to tears of joy to finally see that thing fully finished :)

Thank you Takama. I'm so glad to be able to do this for every one to enjoy and maybe even inspire and/or educate them about our wonderful planet's past.

How far are you from Nashville? I don't live there, but its the closest I'll probably be to your park in the future.

About 4 hours on I-40 .  You'd also be close to Cave City, Kentucky where Dinosaur World is.
