Wow that head looks big, I assume your doing a 1:1 scale?

Yes ! Just like with all our pieces !  ^-^  Overall length should hit somewhere around 23-25' long.

The head will be almost 8' from beak to the top of the frill. :)

:)  Do you know how much the head weighs?

Sorry, I'm talking about the Triceratops.  You said you needed a couple guys to put the head on.

Gotcha. It's all plywood, with foam built up, covered with vinyl and some epoxy..I think 50-80lbs is about right.  It's also awkward as all heck. Didn't help we had to lift it up about even with our head's either.. lol

Here's another pic :

You really managed to capture the shape of the head perfectly! Great progress, can't wait to see it finished.

Thank you all !!!!

I have a bit of a secret..I like ceratopsians but I hate trying to get their frills and jaws, and...well all of it right. lol They are the worst to try and get everything done..hadrosaurs are slightly better. ;)

Been trying to figure out the if I should do spines on the back, a tuft of quills/feathers on the hips or what.

alexeratops

I think you should, it would add a bit more to the erm, pazzaz. ;D ;D

Pachyrhinosaurus

I think enough ornithischians  have been found with quill-like integument to assume triceratops had at least a vestige of it. Wasn't it thought from the skin impressions that the quills were spread out on the back on cone-shaped scales?  If such is the case I would go with it, though only my personal opinion. I can't wait to see the triceratops completed!

If I do feathers/quills like the Proto has that might work.  Would be pretty large though.

They found skin impressions that seemed like they might have been quill bases but they are not positive I don't think. Would mean more material and teaching someone willing to get up there how to do it... ;)

Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus

Just came back to this page after a long absence...you've been busy!

It certainly feels like it ! Though not busy enough ..I like being done so I can move on to even more..lol

We had a group here from a local park today, like national park, and they might like something for their nature center..shaping up to be a great day if I can actually go work and not play on the comp.. lol
