Thanks bud!

You can't see them in these pics ( I forgot to take one) but the interior teeth are present and correctly oriented, wide to narrow.  lol

Wouldn't have asked anyway, since that's what I assumed. ;) I like how all of your models start out as weird S&M-creatures, haha.

Pachyrhinosaurus

Looking great so far! This was perfect timing for you to make a Mosasaur, with Jurassic World just around the corner.

lol I had a member ask on FB and figured I'd address it here as well. ;)

Hah! your not the first person to make that comparison..lol Black is the color of the vinyl I most commonly find that works for skin.  I have used beige, brown and yellow before as well. :)

Worked out well didn't it? Same for our Apatosaurus.. ;) ;D

So Chris, you're working on the Mosasaurus and Apato at the same time? Just a bit ambitious, yes? Hehe! Good job on both so far! I really like the texture of that black vinyl. It does seem to replicate reptilian-like skin quite nicely. What color/colors are you thinking towards for the paint on the Mosasaurus?

Not at all..lol  I'm actually working on the Apato, Mosa, two juvenile Apatos to go with "mom" and a Nothosaurus. When I get the heads on those done I'll be starting our Stegosaurus and an Elasmosaur heads. All stuff I can do indoors with the way the weather has been.  We're also trying to build the structure that will house the marine reptiles..oi.

It does at that..one reason I really like it.

Paint is one of those things I usually hold on until the last minute..lol I just had an idea for a grey and red coloration for the Apato today something different than the other creatures in the Park.  The Mosa I know it needs to be black in a lot of areas based on current research. So maybe something like the patterns on a modern varanid?

Uh, a Stegosaurus? You got me curious (again)! :D

hehe!  Yeah I'm thinking maybe an adult S.Stenops? It's the only one Scott has a skeletal for at any rate.

He's also the last of the super popular dinos I don't have here.  With him done I can finally move on to other species..and maybe another theropod finally! lol

fabricious

Can't wait for that! It surely is one hell of an animal to work on. I was actually thinking of making a model of S. stenops as well, in digital form though, of course. ;) But a lifesized one would be kind of neat as well... :D

I have a plan for him shaping in my mind, I know how to do the plates so they won't be wobbly and such, the Kentrosaurus was a great teaching piece on stegosaurs for me.  Any form would be great! I have plenty of models of different scales here and reference images to use for mine. I think most people are impressed when they see just how big these animals were compared to them. It's really interesting to watch and hear.

I can imagine! It always is a different thing to look at pictures and then stand right next to the animals. :) We have a cast of a Stegosaurus-skeleton mounted here at our department of paleontology at the university of Vienna, and it was the first time for me to stand next to one. Despite it being a lot smaller than I had pictured it in my mind, I am still blown away every time I see and walk past it.

Meso-Cenozoic

Oh man, A Stegosaurus! He's always been one of my faves. That one sounds like a really fun one, creatively, to work on!

I think a lot of us have the old King Kong Stego in mind..or we've seen the Lost World:JP and the oversized " prehistoric beasts" there..lol  The largest size I can find for Stegosaurus is 30' long and around 9' tall. So that's probably what we'll go with. ;)

He has a following in his own right for sure. I knew we'd do one some day after I built the Kentrosaurus just had to figure out how to do the plates..which I'm happy to say I think I have. :)
