looks nice but shouldn't the nostrils be lower on the snout?

There are lines of thought that place them on top of the head , in the middle ( like this) and at the end of the snout.  I figured if they were at the end of the snout they might get damaged, so I went for a mid-level as the top seems odd to me now that they aren't water animals. Not sure if it's right but it made some sense in my head.

If they do a remake of Baby: Secret of the Lost Legend, they gotta hire you.
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

I do really like that movie...did you know it featured life sized "Brontosaurs" ? I mean they actually made all the animatronics life size like in Jurassic Park..but it was a bit earlier..pretty cool.  :)

Yeah, I'd like to see that sort of effort put into a film today. No use of CGI except to remove rods and supports and such. This is another movie, like Congo, that gets no love in Behind The Scenes documentaries, real interesting stuff. I'd love to get the Jerry Goldsmith score on CD - very underrated.

Have you ever checked out the Gary Owens and Eric Boardman dinosaur shows? One of them had a bit of behind the scenes footage for Baby, showing work on the big adults and the Baby itself.

Totally agree. The music during the big reveal of them was as powerful as the animals themselves.

I had a video when I was a kid that had some behind the scenes of Baby. If we're thinking of the same guys, this video ended with one of them actually turning into a dinosaur, because he liked them so much. Very appealing to my young mind.

I might have to get those, a real nostalgia trip. I reckon we should do a game on this thread where we try and guess what animals' taxidermy eyes you use on the current photos. I'm gonna say, some sort of owl for the juvenile Apatosaurus.

Blade-of-the-Moon

That would work if they were all specific. The Apato eyes in the mom and juveniles are just listed as colors. I chose a reddish brown for a male and green for female...just personal preference.

lol pretty close, it's greenish/yellow.  The flash really washes it out in the end.

Received my X-Plus Kong Rex today and also it was actually warm enough to do a little painting so I painted up my Horizon Brontosaurus :

crisp black and white!

Hey Blade, I took a look at your first post and it got me wondering: is there any more drawings that you have done recently? I haven't seen any. :)
like a bantha!

Blade-of-the-Moon

Haven't had the time! lol  I do some drawing now..nothing as detailed as before unless commissioned though. Most of it is just concept work to let me hash out the next 3D build.

LOVE the Skull Island photos! Perfect in Black and White. I've had my eye on that X plus Rex for a while, but I'm gonna have to get it now. How big is it? And what's a good retro stegosaur you might have in mind to join those two? Heck, I've gotta watch King Kong now!

lol I've really been on a retro-saur kick for a few weeks now..not sure why. I even had to paint my Horizon Brontosaurus there like the Sinclair/Jonas Studios one.  ;D

The Rex is right around 13" long and 8 1/2" tall. I was the same way..I've liked him for awhile but just recently found a fair price on him. I will tell you to be prepared for some aggravation in getting the one leg and tail attached.

Let's see..I've been trying to snag a Flintstones Hunting Party Stegosaurus but no luck yet. They usually seem to be costly too.

The Dino-Riders Stego has a good retro look and is detailed..otherwise the  Horizon Stego kit would work :
