Thanks bud, getting rough coming up with new color schemes I can manage with the color selection walmart has.. ;)

500lbs was probably overkill..but I like going overboard when it comes to protecting these guys..heh  We could have mixed concrete and filled the base as well. Though if we ever had to move it take about a pain in the tail...lol

Meso-Cenozoic

Really like the new Velociraptor and Young Quetz! They look so natural in their setting.

Looking at these guys out in the woods and hearing you say you need to spend more time on upkeep now, I'm guessing that also means a lot of weeding and maybe some tree trimming from time to time around them. Some vines that grow more around the bases would be fine and finish covering any exposed plastic covered bases. But those wild vines get out of control really fast, right?! So, not only upkeep on the dinos, but a constant upkeep on nature too! Heh, heh! Maybe you could get some kids to help in that area with the weed pulling. Not my favorite Summer past time! LOL!

Deinonychus, this ain't Jurassic Park..lol sorry, joking..had to.  ;D

Exactly, weeds grow like crazy, I have a friend who sprays chemicals for a local landscaping company and he's hit the paths, but trees need trimming like the poplars those trees once started can make a new 3' limb in a week. It's a barely controlled chaos...so it's a bit  like JP after all.. lol  ;)  Nor mine! I've had volunteers ask about volunteering here..but none so far have shown up.  :/

Too bad I don't live in the USA :'( I would love to help out with weeding. I look for volunteer work to help with my mental illness (gets me out of the house and around people) and working at a dinosaur park would be a dream come true.

We would gladly accept your help! It's getting harder and harder for me and my friend to manage events, birthday parties, mow, weed, prune, fix up the gift shop after adults/kids have been through ( imagine a toy aisle at your local store) and still build dinosaurs. That's why the dino building will be slowing down next year. Just so I can try and breathe more. ;)

Here are a couple more pics of Deinonychus :

Now that's its pretty side  :)

Blade, that Deinonychus may be your most impressive work to date - looks alive!

Really awesome, one of your best dinosaurs  ^-^.
[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

Thanks guys! Glad you dig it!

Your deinonychus is amazing! I know how hard it is to make something look like it's actually moving, and you nailed it. Good work.  8)

It's really hard to get any motion in the bigger guys due to stability but with smaller ones I can play around a bit more. Basically I want more active pieces I'm just usually too constrained by the engineering angle. ;)

Here's some pics of the Quetz :

Patrx

Very nice! Y'know, it makes me wonder why azhdarchids have never appeared in Jurassic Park or the like. It's like a predatory flying giraffe with a giant spear for a face. What's weirder or more intimidating than that?

Yutyrannus

Looks great! I especially like the color :).

Indeed, that was certainly a missed opportunity. Azhdarchids are some of the most terrifying prehistoric animals of all time as far as I'm concerned, they would be perfect for one of the Jurassic Park films.

Blade-of-the-Moon

Thanks guys! Yeah I was hoping we would get one myself when I saw the brochure image, the longer neck and short crest made me think Quetz for sure.

It would be great for a scene like in TLW where a group stumbles through a forest then they get snatched up one after the other..lol

I might do a Tupuxuara next and suspend it from the trees..with lots of cables to keep it place.. ;)

Meso-Cenozoic

I really do like your color and pattern choices on the Quetz. Very unique. And you had said it was a young one, right? So the extra spots and shadow-like patterns would be good for camouflage. 8)

And those are great new pics of the DEINONYCHUS! Yep, when I had typed "Velociraptor" last time, I had just left the discussion boards for JW over at IMDb. I'm afraid the lingo was still in my head! :-[ LOL!

But yeah, some of these pics you're getting are really add-worthy. They might need a little finishing touches to make them pop, but the way you captured them is quite nice. If you'd ever like to use any of these, email me a copy of the original (that way it will keep the original size and quality) and I can see what I can do with it in photoshop. Hey, that's one way I can donate something right now! And it beats waiting around for this move to finally start happening!

It's funny, sometimes I plan out a paint scheme other times I just wing it..lol and it seems to work out. I had a very rough idea going into this one..I knew I didn't want a sea bird coloration and I liked the idea of green on the crest. Beyond that I had no idea. For some reason I tend to just get ideas when I'm pushed or stressed..tough on the body and mind but the results speak for themselves I guess. The spots were like that, just popped in there. lol

No worries, I had to rib ya' a little about it..lol

I usually post all these on Facebook and sometimes they end up on our website when my web guy gets around to it. I normally keep most of the pics, if you see any you would like to try just let me know.  I might be able to get one on a sign at some point..still working on getting some 3x5 road signs made..just haven't settled on a design yet.  Thanks bud!

Well for starters, I think this pic is great! I can sharpen it a bit more and make him less washed-out because of the back lighting. This will make him stand out from the background better, too. There's also enough room in the space left of his head for a caption of some kind. Something like, "Be warned! Many teeth and claws ahead!" or simply, "I'd turn back if I were you!". Haha! I'll PM you my email address so you can send me a copy of the original pic. Like I said, it will then retain its original quality and size. The bigger the better for printing too! ;)

Or perhaps, "That doesn't look very scary, more like a six foot turkey" :)). Seems good for a dromaeosaur leaping at viewers :).

Here's a sample...

You can really make him pop! But could be even better with a higher res pic. :)

Blade-of-the-Moon

image sent bud.

Been very busy today with our first night of Dino Park in the Dark, went pretty good despite the rain. :)
