Nice job with the build-up and the paint, Chris! What a great looking model. What scale is it? He seems to be really dwarfing the figures immediately around him!

Wonderfu paint application  ^-^.
[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

Thanks guys, was a lot of fun to build one after so long away from it!

I believe Shane said this one was 1:15?

Took some outdoor shots today, hopefully it shows off the colors and patterns better.

Nice camouflage colours, Blade. Very realistic. I didn't bother with the base on mine as it stands well enough on its' own feet. I think this is the number one model this year.
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

Pachyrhinosaurus

It looks very realistic. I find it hard to incorporate green into any dinosaur anymore, but you did it well.

Thanks bud.  Took me around 3 hours to paint it in 90 degree weather..lol I actually think the base on mine warped a bit while I was painting..it ended up in more horizontal position than I had first thought with the foot placed flat.   Do you have a pic of yours? I might have missed it.  I was pretty tempted to pose it on all fours but given the diorama it will form later I sorta reconsidered.  I do believe you are right..though to be honest Shane hasn't all that much competition that I can see...lol

Thanks. You aren't kidding. Green is very tough for me to make look natural. It can easily end up overdone and too bold. One reason I use it sparingly even on the 1:1 pieces.  The patterns almost ended up as yellow ala Jurassic Park 3.  But I kept thinking I wanted this girl to either be fleeing from the water ( theropods can swim afterall..) or she was out in the rain...the ground was muddy her legs and feet are covered in it,  just nice and swampy. The only thing I didn't get to do was add some hanging spanish moss somewhere..maybe on the Gorgo/Albertosaurus if Shane adds a tree to it. ;)

That dimetrodon is lovely! I really like the colors and the crocodile-esque feel to his pose. He pulls off that cool but menacing sense of power very well. :)

I always come back to this thread to see your latest projects, and I am sorry I don't comment more often.  Your latest additions of the therizinasaur, azdarchid, and deinonychus are particularly stunning. It is all the more impressive to see all the work behind it, and the "beauty shots" are great! They make it easy to imagine them as real animals in their natural environment.  :)

Thank you! I found a similarly painted one online and did my best to replicate it..lol I'm glad you saw the croc in him! This pose was totally based on that idea...a croc in a semi standing position..maybe threatening?

No problem, I know it's hard to keep posting " That's awesome!" you feel like you should say more. I'm the same way. lol

I mentioned how much I liked your Dimetrodon paint job on Facebook, but it doesn't hurt to mention it again here... I like it! :D

And congrats on being included in this PT issue! I know that means a lot to you. And at the same time, what a great plug for your park! You should get a second copy to put up on display somewhere at the park. :)

Thanks bud!

We actually had an article last year in PT about the Park here, it was in issue 110. I was astounded Mike had decided to run it..I've been a PT reader since 1994 or so with issue 13. I can't say how happy it makes me to be a part of the magazine I grew up with.  :))
