Thanks, it sure is!  Might get her done tomorrow!

Blade-of-the-Moon

Our full sized Stegosaurus " Ray", is done! Named for a very good friend of me and the Dinosaur Park. She will be joined later on by a juvenile.

Just about 30' long she is the largest Stegosaurus model I have personally ever seen.  Her coloration is thanks to inspiration from a piece owned by DanDinosaurs and created by Martin Garratt.

triceratops83

Fantastic! I can't think of a better life-size Stegosaurus.
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

DinoLord

Nice! It's not often one sees black/grey Stegosaurus.

Heh, I was very close to going with green and red/orange plates..but I've loved this design by Martin and Dan, it was my 2nd choice for the Triceratops so I just adapted it for our Stegosaurus.

It's petty bold, you can see it from a-ways in the woods now..lol

IDK if you remember, but I asked about the Dimetrodon sign a while back ( http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=37.2580 ). The above pic is the 1st 1 I've seen a sign in AFAICR, so I have to ask: Are all the signs that small? If so, then no wonder the Dimetrodon "still gets called [a dino]...Same for the "pterodactyls"." When I said "a big [WARNING] sign", I meant like in the below pic. I'm not saying that you should replace all your old signs (especially since you have bigger things to deal w/right now), but that if/when you're not too busy dealing w/bigger things, it would help to put a big WARNING sign next to each of your old non-dino signs. It might also help to give all your old signs (including the posts) a new paint job so that they're easier to see. What do you think?

I remember now..lol

They look small compared to the dinos, especially this one!  They are around 10x12", we cut a piece of plywood , wrap it in vinyl, then screw the laminated sign on them.

Back when I wanted to add signs I wanted them to be present but unobtrusive to the main attraction, the dinosaur itself.  I'd like to do ones with images and facts but they require an artist to put them together for  us and then I need to get them printed..usually coroplast ( the stuff you see all these political signs made from) runs around 30.00 or so for a single design on an 2x4' sheet.

They usually work overall, if a parent is interested they will read it for the kids or themselves.  School groups read them off aloud, the other groups like church groups mostly ignore them. ;)

I do love signage though..any interesting way to make them work is cool with me..this new Tupuxuara I was thinking of a sign that said " drop zone" lol

Some of you may recall me talking about a mascot costume we commissioned to help advertise for the Park. The artist, Hallows Keep Creations, asked for the entire amount of 1500.00 up front, been 2 years now and we still haven't received anything as he has claimed to have weather, health, and creative issues.

So over Christmas during a sale I purchased a Deluxe Indominus Rex costume that we are hoping to use for advertising.  I've done some work, foam filling, wiring certain spots..

Been thinking of some paint work but not sure just where and what yet.  Also tempted to cut out the eyes and replace with taxidermy ones.

TeeHeee.  It looks like one of those human/dinosaur hybrids from the abandoned JW script.

You work with what you have.l..lol   There really isn't much good out there in terms of commercially available/mass produced dinosaur costumes.

Admittedly a  more dinosaur like posture will be better..the image looks like he's waving..ugh   I'm considering building a crate with ferns to only have the actor's upper front torso showing too.

My original costume idea was like this but with an Allosaurus juvenile instead :

Well, I would recommend making it look not like the Indominus if you plan on using it or advertising, you might have some legal issues. You could probably make it look like some species of abelisaur.

Attach two big epoxy horns to the head and then you have yourself a Carnotarus

Well advertising might be extreme, more just for events we do really.  No worse than all those guys on youtube with the T-Rex costume doing things and drawing in viewers.  We're not claiming it's ours either and it's not for profit so I think we're good legally.

If I could cast, then latex horns would work,  epoxy would weigh it down quite a bit and probably sag over time.  It really doesn't look like any accurate dinosaur so I'd almost hate to claim it was.

The film version of the I-Rex actually has more pronounced horns and the arms have the proto-feathers, this costume has neither so it's not 100% the same as the film version at any rate..I'm just calling it a juvenile I-Rex/ hybrid.

We've pretty much setup the scene here in the Park with Little Al our junior mascot getting into trouble again and causing Big Al to go in search of him. This is meant to be a recurring theme among our mascot duo of Allosaurs. We will hopefully be getting signs soon to help tell the story of the pair and are looking for story ideas and elements. In the spirit of this I took the pic here of Ray our Stegosaurus with Little Al in their scene together, it's pretty obvious Little Al has bitten off way more than he can chew, again! lol Help us out by captioning the image and sharing it!
