That Anatotitan is beautiful! Do you ever do buildup/paintup commissions?
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Thanks!  I do over Winter, I usually start getting too busy in Spring with the Park to do much else.  I haven't done any in awhile though, model kits are hard to ship safely once built, figures are easier. I've made some baby dinos, dinosaur foot paperweights, odds and ends.  I recall everyone wanting a sauropod carcass at one point ( I've made a few dead/rotting things ) and I made the offer to scratch build some but no takers..lol

Finally a day when it's not cold and wet, made some more Dracorex progress.

Going to finish up the epoxy work tomorrow, it can then set and await a good warm day for painting.

Does the whole process feels like you are giving birth somehow? Like, while sculpting and crafting, it slowly comes to life I mean?
Because it does to me, looking at those pictures.
First you make the head and then in steps the rest appears.
Then it stands there and looks at you with those yellow eyes. Almost alive. Just a few more steps to go.

I really like this one.  ^-^

Definitely feels like creating something, the manipulation of the epoxy, making details, carving, lots of steps. I usually hurt myself, so there is some sacrifice..lol blood and sweat is usually part of the creation somewhere ;)

Doug the Dracorex just need some paint and done. Why Doug ? Well if the little hint on his back doesn't do it let's just say I appreciate the help from another dino artist and I basically copied/scaled up his work lol

I am happy to let any of my little guys help you any time, looks great, looking froward to the paint. I hope the skull illustrations helped as well. Love the spikes, you are lucky yours get to stay sharp. Mind you I am not sure what your insurance provider would think about them.

Just finished this awesome Knight Rex model! Sculpted by Joe Laudati

Beautiful job on the faux bronzing of this piece and its a great sculpt too, they have a build up of his AMNH Knight T rex in the latest PT, that is a beautiful piece too.

Thanks bud! They did! I actually have used a lot of figures in the past helps to have a 3D model in hand to really see things ( and justifies my collecting  ;) )    lol Maybe those spikes will keep the squirrels away?

This little Minmi wandered into the workshop today, she made a bit of a mess, but I gave her a drink and she seemed much more happy. lol

Amazing work as always! Really like how calm and peaceful the Minmi looks, contrasts with the curious and alert Dracorex  ^-^

Say, how large did you make your Minmi? I've seen various size estimates being thrown around for him, from 2.5 to 3m. Could you do a human size comparison next to it? Thanks!

I didn't actually build this one, she was donated to the Park.  I did have to replace the eyes, add new eyelids, and repaint it though.

Dimensions: 88.75"L X 25.25"W X 31.5"H

That Dracorex is perfect.  It just has so much personality.  Awesome work.

Thanks! I do try ti make them life like and imagine what they might be doing to get a certain look.  It's easier with the smaller ones. Larger is harder to work with and more difficult to get into different positions.   Fun fact, you won't find any of my pieces with the mouth open looking up, rainwater collects and freezes in them if I do that. This guy worked since the mouth was closed.

Shonisaurus

Wow! The dracorex that you have made is a high quality figure, the figure has been outstanding, your level of detail and perfection especially in relation to the spikes of the head has been embroidered. On the other hand the minmi is a lovely figure.

It was the company itself, I agreed to display a sign for them nearby. Being a nonprofit they can just write it off.  I have their Hypsilophodon as well.    We do occasionally get larger donations, since the county took our playground away and I'm searching for someone to build us one to code, a couple individuals stepped up and donated some Step 2 brand items, a couple dinosaur rockers and a climbing mountain. Oddly most do want to remain anonymous.
