The first cast to come out of the mold! Looks like I need to add another vent to the right foot, and tighten the rubber bands, but pretty great for a first cast. Nicer pics and prices will follow.

Just poured a second cast which doesn't have the problems of the first one, I'm really happy with how it came out! Here are the pictures:
1. The first cast in daylight
2. Today's new cast in the mold
3. Closeup of same cast
4. Same cast with vents removed

Thanks for the comments!

WOW!!! What's the price of the Irritator?

Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

thats amazing kayakasaurus! unpainted it reminds me of an Invicta.

That looks fantastic. I wouldn't have expected it to require so many vents! Without them, do you just get lumpy accumulations of resin?

The majority would fill up, but the undercuts would get air trapped and things like the claws wouldn't form, as well as lots of bubbles. One of the reasons this has so many vents is this is the first dinosaur where the digits were big (and separate) enough to be vented individualy. It's possible not all the ones on the head are necessary, but I like to err on the side of more vents.  :)

I've taken the Parasaurolophus up a notch with a cold cast steel effect. This is more like it!

Impresive model Kayakasaurus  ^-^.
[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

Ahhh, that makes sense. I think I was misunderstanding the purpose of the vents, but on reflection it's obvious that they help the resin to flow into extremities by capillary action. Thanks!

Thank you for all the comments, more information coming soon. I started painting, working on finding a good color scheme to paint a batch. This is the one I did today, it'll just be a stand alone paint job. :)
