And to no ones surprise, it is a Jurassic Park Compy.

A JP Compsognathus could be my first REBOR, can't wait to see the promo. Hope they make it a green/yellow mix, would work wonderfully with Papo t-rex and raptor.

The scale would be way off.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Well, that was expected. The inclusion of the dragonfly is a nice idea and it is alive, unlike previous "prey items". This is the first time someone makes a prehistoric dragonfly. Isn´t it?

And now to controversial stuff. Although Jp design are copied very frequently, but this model has a very strong resemblance to the "official" JP TLW Compy model (same pose, probably same colors...). I don't remember who makes those "official" models, but should be this considered to be plagiarism since the models look exactly the same?
Also are those JP "official models" really official? I mean, they have license or not? Even it that´s the case. Wouldn't it still be a rip-off of that model?

postsaurischian

Another REBOR model I won't get and a big step back after the Dimorphodon.

There's the Dinotales Meganeura.

Shonisaurus

A Compsognathus without feathers? Not fit theropods and further smaller must have had feathers as the birds do not because I say so, they say the latest scientific discoveries.

It's another figure Rebor more typical of film and lacking in scientific credibility.

Should be the paleontological representation of how the dinosaurs this link for instance:

http://es.prehistorico.wikia.com/wiki/Compsognathus

This dinosaur is devoid of plumage, or at least fluff. Not true. Moreover the meganeura still do not know what will or malleable mat

Yup, this is quite a step back from their fairly reasonable Dimorphodon set. It's disappointing, as generally, I'm in favor of making smaller animals in larger scales like this. Compsognathus figures are themselves rare, sadly, and usually when they do turn up, they look like this.

The dragonfly idea is cool....oh, it's another JP wannabe. Yawn, a pass from me.

joossa

Pass. Not digging the scale and compys aren't my cup of tea.

Luckily, I'm collecting other non-dino figures at the moment, so no immediate releases from the 1/35 line for now is a good thing. Staggers my purchases and allows my wallet some breathing room. :)

I actually think it's pretty cute. Depending on the price I may get one.

It's certainly a JP copy and some fans will love that. It could even be a baby one.

That said, are definitively feathering compsognathus now?  I've been attempting to research the matter for a project here ( feathering a Dinostoreus Compy) and have found that within the family there is a lot of variation from none to some to more as far as the fossils go.

Patrx

Nothing on ol' Compsognathus, yet, but it's a coelurosaur. Good luck with your Dinostoreus one. Be sure to fix the hands while you're at it, if possible!

Megalosaurus

Yes... a JP rip... again...
I hate the static pose.

I'll get it anyway, I want the Meganeura.
Sobreviviendo a la extinción!!!

I hope this poor little guy gets the Dragonfly.....he looks like he is starving!  :-\

I don't think I'll be getting this one either.

From what I could find, if it did have some sort of feathers, they would be sparse and hairy?  One hand is actually passable in it's position, the other is the problem..I've heated and re-posed some resin..I wonder if that could work here?

What would you think if I turned this one into a Sinosauropteryx ?

Actually, as I just learned in a lecture online, some people think Sinosauropteryx might also have had loose, downy-type feathers as well as (or indeed instead of) hairlike ones.
Sounds like the hands could be tricky! Hmm. I've never tried to do anything with resin, myself. Generally, I fear it'll break if I look at it too hard!

Sinosauropteryx would be a cool addition to the park, I think! I wonder if you'll ever get those JP Compies from Malcolm?

While I adore the Jurassic Park Compsognathus this is indeed a huge step backwards, but it's still a must have for me. And hey, I was hoping REBOR would try inverts! ;D

Takama

Well this will be the first Rebor i plan on getting just for the fact that its a species that i been Wanting Several compnayes to make for quite some time.

But that does not mean i will be biased if i review it on the Blog

Halichoeres

I might be wrong, but I think by the time of Compsognathus giant dragonflies were extinct (Meganeura in particular certainly was). Solnhofen dragonflies were no bigger than a modern darner. But I guess that's picking nits when we're dealing with Rebor. I have to say the dragonfly, whatever it is, looks pretty cool, even if it's wildly out of scale with the compy.

Wow.  :o I wasn't particularly intrigued by this release before, but naturally one hopes a company like Rebor would improve with each figure, especially after recent pieces like the Acro and Dimorphodons, but by Jove that is quite possibly the most vapid and uninspired rendition of a Compsognathus that i could possibly imagine. I could forgive the tired JP aesthetic a little bit if it werent for the pose; it's just standing there for Pete's sake! Combined with it's ridiculous lack of flesh, it just looks dead, and not recently dead, it looks like a very old mummified corpse of an animal that died from some kind of un-natural internal vacuum. It looks to me like Rebor didn't even try with this... they'll have to pull something seriously good out of the bag next to get me interested in any more of their pieces...
Maybe it's just me, but I don't even like looking at that picture of it. I feel like I need a shower.
(Maybe I'm exaggerating, who knows.)
