Ya, I'm going to retain the antler base, and I might even incorporate it into a base mounted diorama as a "log" and have this guy chasing a lizard or something
Wow, I didn't realize it was an antler! It looked like wood at first glance.

I been bustin it on this guy today and got a lot of progress done. The details are gonna look rad when its all done! I need to anchor the model to the base better before I can sculpt the weight bearing foot. Otherwise better kiss them toes goodbye...

The antler does have a wood like appearance to it. I think its why I picked this particular piece.

It is really beautiful currently  ^-^.
[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

I'm too lazy to fix all those wrong spellings haha! The title and all subsequent posts will be correctly labeled until I am bored enough to fix them all :)

Anyway, I added some new photos of the coelophysis. I did some more musculature work and am in the process of detailing the neck. I'm saving the teeth for last due to the nature of the sculpey clay. I recently got in a lot of three different kinds, so itll be interesting to see how the medium and firm types handle.

Looking really good! wish a toy company would release one as nice.

Thanks for the nice comments everyone! I've added some more body detailing and muscle contouring today, and also decided that the hands and support foot absolutely need to have armatures built to support the fingers and toes. As it is, the clay rolls off the armature when its being worked. Annoying as heck. So I've taken the clay off in prep for the new wire work. I'm also going to re-pose the arms a bit.

Some new updates were added to the sculpture. I've added hands to it and am working out the musculature. I've started the veining process on the tail. The new sculpey firm I got is awesome! I really love how it tools and smooths. It holds awesome detail!

Wow..looks fantastic. All the musculature is fantastic.

Archinto

Ooooh man, the Coelophysis is nearing the baking process! I've gotten all the clay laid out for the final detailing. Still need to do more veining on the tail. Overall I am loving how well its coming along. I've added new update photos to the top post. :)

Very cool..kinda makes me want to add a 1:1 to the park here.. ;)

Archinto

I think you should make a small group of them, maybe three to five of them! Being small dinosaurs i think itd look awesome if they took over a small foresty scene with a big log. Coelophysis den :3

Ive been doing more detailing today and its looking even better!

I was thinking 2-3 maybe vs Postosuchus?

Well dang show us a pic! lol

Archinto

Well, I managed to finish the sculpting phase on lil Coelophysis here. The old beige clay did a wierd thing when it cooked and almost looks like its full of fish scales, but the sculpt is still smooth, so I am happy. I'll just have to limit that clay for non serious sculpts due to its age. I can't wait to get some color laid out on this guy. The firm grade sculpey is amazing!
