Acrocanthosaurus: as I said a few posts earlier, awful. I was hoping for a Suchomimus, at least with a spinosaurid head Schleich would have been forced to do something different, instead we got an Acrocanthosaurus which has a generic theropod head, it is a tail-dragger, and has the most boring colour scheme possible. This dark tone looked acceptable on the old replicasaurs, but given how brightly-coloured were Schleich theropods in the latest years it just looks out of place in the current line.

Kentrosaurus: maybe it's the same mold of the new Stegosaurus with different plates and spikes? I might get it anyway. I was never completely sold on Schleich Kentrosaurus, mainly for its colour scheme and paint app. This retool seems to add a shade of white on the underside, and the colours, although virtually identical, look overall nicer to me. I'll have to see close-ups of the head to actually decide if this guy will join my Pentaceratops though.

Someone said that only two models were left for the second half of the year, and being the Kentrosaurus a new sculpt I assume there's no Plesiosaurus. I don't know exactly why but I had some hopes for Schleich to release a plesiosaur, so I'm moderately disappointed. If they follow a chronological order with their present "Dinosaurs" line I believe a Plesiosaurus is ruled out at the moment, it is from the Jurassic period and next year should be dedicated to Cretaceous creatures, right?

The only possibility is that The rep who leaked the Plesiosaurus, actully ment it to be a Elasmosaurus. OR theres more we dont know about in there other lines(Minis, Small dinos)

We need to juxtapose the Papo and Schleich Acro models  >:D

I was looking forward to the Plesiosaurus! Oh well, I guess I will purchase the favorite collection models v1. and v2.

im guessing the executives of Schleich double as sculptors for the company's prehistoric line. they keep churning out horrible figures one after another. it is indeed puzzling for a brand that makes such a huge profit to not hire talented artists.

I think it's a huge improvement for Schleich, if only because it looks like it was bad/antiquated on purpose, rather than a poorly designed demonic crayon possessing the vague concept of a dinosaur.
Excellent I'm smiling as I type...no way to defend the indefensible lol

Schleich must burn up molds like crazy..that's the only reason to redo the Kentrosaurus I can see?

Probably the new mold represent a female kentro and the old one a male. or reverse.

Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

Gwangi

The acro reminds me of the T. rex from "Carnosaur"...

I just accessed sts-forum and I have seen the novelties of Schleich, the positive is the kentrosaurus although it is a remake of the previous one and the bad thing is the acrocanthosaurus puts fear of the fear. Papo leaves that specimen in shame.

You pass the link, to access the photographs you have to be registered. In the group of the carnotaurus skull have included a species of iguana or other type of lizard.

The acrocanthosaurus Schleich is ugly with greed I do not think even the children like this figure, honestly speaking.

It's clearly a Ceratosaurus skull.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Here I send the link:

Certain is a ceratosaurus and my mistake is unforgivable, although honestly in this figure I have not noticed much, because when I am not interested in a toy product I usually pay little attention. But I have to admit that my misdirection is a crime still a mere collector of dinosaurs and having no idea about paleontology. At least in this I should not have been wrong to comment on it even without knowledge of paleontology.

Affirmative.
And the Kentrosaurus is positioned and painted differently.
...but not for the better IMO.
Why Schleich, why?

terrorchicken

if the eyes were more in the middle of the head and without the spines it kinda looks like the Fantasia T-rex, another retro dino.

For those who are not registered at STS here are some of the pictures, credit goes to STS member Numaan:

I still can't get over how bloody ugly that Acrocanthosaurus is. It's as though Schleich wound back their clock a decade or so.

so the new Kentrosaurus is almost a new sculpt, except for the whole body (incl. plates and spikes) and tail (head and limbs look different enough from the 2015 figure).

Yeah, the Kentrosaurus appears to be a resculpt. In my opinion both colour scheme and general detail seem fairly improved from the previous version.

AcroSauroTaurus

The Kentrosaurus actually looks amazing. Schleich can do extremely realistic detailing, but sadly they can't quite get dinosaur anatomy right... (minus the Kentrosaurus)
