*SOLID* SOLID PVC RESIN.  HEAVY AS HECK!!!

It stands on its own, or fits perfectly on the pegs on the stand.  PERFECTLY.
thanks for the info.

hmmm would we consider this a "toy" figure?
"you know you have a lot of prehistoric figures if you have at least twenty items per page of the prehistoric/dinosaur section on ebay." - anon.

Simon

No.  Not a "toy".  BTW the box it comes in can be displayed by itself its so beautiful, and they sent me 2 of the big, heavy, glossy books - one in Chinese, one in English.

Simon

Here are some comparison shots with my 1/35 Kinto Triceratops (painted for me by Martin Garratt).  I think I'll display them together - what do you think?  ;)

sauroid

true. they look perfect together.

Wow! That looks great Simon! I was concerned about what the quality would be of production figures but that looks awesome. I'm jealous  O:-)

Perhaps some of the extra cost comes from being a higher quality figure...being solid and good pain application...unlike their Triceratops.  ???

I've decided not to purchase this model set. Due to it's high price, gnarly appearance, lack of feathers and exposed teeth. Generally not my cup of tea. We'll see how this 'luxury' line goes.
Oh also, here's the link to the 'luxury' T-rex on TaoBao.
Original price: 999 yuan, Discounted price: 299 yuan

I'll save my money on some articulated horned friends coming this summer.

How does ToaBoa work? Does one just place the order in the link??

I started a thread about this very subject yesterday:

The glossy book is heavy and has some awesome anatomical illustrations of TRex anatomy, motion, feathered depictions - and they sent me 2 of them - one in Chinese, one in English.  That book is a part of the cost, in a bookstore it would probably go for $30.

Nice to see that PNSO is switching to solid PVC figures, the detail on this T-Rex looks on par with Rebor's and Papo's, but I just don't like its monstrous appearence. I hope they'll manage to keep the standard that high with future models, opting for more naturalistic sculpts.

tanystropheus

The actual model doesn't look quite as wrinkly.

Killekor

WOOOOOOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

Killekor
Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

Silvanusaurus

High quality production, detailed environmental display base, beautiful packaging, super-detailed sculpting, being relatively 'realistic' while still retaining an overtly 'cool' and menacing appearance; this is exactly everything that Rebor likes to think they've been doing.

Nailed it.

I hope I get my Wilson as soon as possible. Orderd one from Monsterhouse. Could arrive between February and March - we will see - I am really nervos. I plan to combine him with my new Giganotosaurus from Safari. Hope that they were in the same Scale.
I have the Kinto Triceratops too - it is the same model like the one from Simon, but not repainted - Simons Tric looks so great! But I have to do a little correction about the scale - Simons Kinto Tric is in 1/40, not in 1/35. The old Kinto version, the blue one is in 1/35.

The tyrannosaurus according to Simon is 15 inches. Which is the exact same length as the safari giganotosaurus. Not only making me doubt it's in 1:35 scale, but would likely dwarf the safari giganotosaurus visually speaking. I don't collect on a specific scale, I'm actually happy with getting large quality figures. But I can see this putting some people off.

I decided to get this peice eventually. The photos Simon posted looks significantly less over textured then the official pictures, which was honestly the only thing about the figure that was putting me off. Looks like a very well made scaly tyrannosaurus.

Dobber

Simon, did you pay for faster shipping from Amazon.co.uk? It seemed like you got the figure pretty quickly. When I ordered my PNSO Triceratops from them it took a while to get to the me here in the U.S.

No, I did not pay anything extra for shipping.  But I live in California, so that might have had something to do with it (we are right across the Pacific from China).
