I wont show my other choice til after the contest. Btw i sent my pic in.
Walking With Monsers:
[about Lystrosaurus] Astonishingly, their vast herds make up more than half of all life on Earth. Never again will a single species do so well.

Walking With Monsters: (Hynerpeton) To avoid injury the males demonstrate their strength  in a strange  push up contest.

Dinomike

Maybe it is mentioned somewhere in this thread but what size should the entry be? Usually there's been a width limit of 1000 pix. Does this apply?

Well, I'm gonna be pushed for time with the due date (July 30) for submissions.  However, I have plans for a diorama involving several critters, hopefully to be shot outdoors in a natural setting.

Wish me luck - I'm off on my annual Summer Vacation on Sunday.  That is literally the only time during the year that I have to do art projects anymore, and I would like to create something a little more elaborate this year, just for the fun of it!

I have a couple of large figures (or pieces of several figures, to be accurate) that have been lying around literally for 4-5 years or longer. If I can summon up the ghost of my "kit-bashing" modeling days, I might come up with something interesting.  The thought of sharing it with other like-minded folks who might enjoy seeing the finished work is what motivates me.   ^-^ ^-^ ^-^

Its coming along nicely - is there a size limit on the photos that are submitted?  If so, what is it?

I always thought that limiting the size of the photos to 1000dcpi  as the contest did in the past really affected the quality of the resolution and hence, the visible detail...

No limit  :) If I have to I can always resize them.

Kayakasaurus, what do you make your molds out of? And are the casts resin or some sort of plastic?

I think Kayakasaurus replied to that questions somewhere (on forum or in one of his videos).

The three models I own of the line are at least not made out of a resin like that brittle and hard stuff those high price models are made from and is nothing like the epoxy resins I have worked with. In fact I'd dare to give all the models to my 3 year old son to play with them. The "plastic" feels more like the stuff Invicta models are made from, but I certainly can't say what chemical compound it is.

BlueKrono

Yes, that's what I was asking about. I'd like to know what kind of resin isn't brittle. And are the molds silicone?

Here's the Resin I use https://www.alumilite.com/store/p/934-Alumilite-White-Amazing-Casting-Resin.aspx , I don't purchase it from the manufacturer.

The Silicone is Oomoo by Smooth-on.  :)

Kayakasaurus - How are the entries going?  Are you getting a good number of submissions?  I know in the past when the official DTF contest was on, there would be reminders sent out, etc, etc ... while we may not get the huge number of entries we've seen the past 2 years, I hope the members are still interested.  Seeing all the entries is without a doubt the highlight of the DTF year for me....

Ahh, I'm really late in reading about this year's diorama contest, so I'm not sure I'll get a photo ready in time xD I will try, though. :) Looking forward to seeing everyone's entries~

Anyway, I also wanted to say- Kayakasaurus: I love your models! Those little Paras are so cute and fun looking!! Any chance they'll be up for sale?

We've got some beautiful submissions! It's a smaller contest for this year but it's definitely worth it.
