Wow!!! So fast!! They look amazing! I wonder which one is mine!  ;D

ceratopsian

My goodness that was fast!  So double good news this morning, with the pictures of the new PNSO model.  What an army of Diabloceratops!  Like Albertasaurus, I wondered which was mine as I looked at the photo.  Many thanks for the news and photos, acro-man.

Bucklander

They look amazing. Can't wait to get mine. Thank you so much for all the effort you put into hooking all of us here on the DTF, up with these and all the other figures (PNSO etc (I'm so bummed I was beaten to that gorgeous Dilophosaurus!)) which we other wise, either wouldn't have an opportunity to get, or at the very least, would find it so much harder to get.

To my surprise, the Diabloceratops arrived today in the UK, having been posted in China only last Thursday.  So incredibly quick.  It didn't get stopped by customs either!  Which was nice.

The packaging was amazing - really sturdy, stiff cardboard for the black box, and such carefully cut polystyrene to hold the model, diorama base and wooden base absolutely immobile and safe while in transit. (It reminded me of seeing handaxes at the museum where I work nestling in their custom-cut "beds".)  Each element was further wrapped in tissue paper within its allocated niche.  I must admit that when I ordered, my biggest worry was how the packaging would stand up to international travel.  I needn't have worried - the box was just as secure as that in which PNSO's Tyrannosaurus rex "Wilson" was sent out.  The black box is also elegant and minimalist in its decoration.

The model is lovely in terms of both sculpt and paintwork, and it is everything I hoped for.  You are never quite sure how something is going to turn out, especially when it the studio's first model!  I'm very glad I was brave and took the plunge.  I love the model's dynamic pose and also the detail of the diorama base - it has a very elegant and well-balanced rhythmic curve.  The green lichen-like growth is also perfect.

The foot peg is also of excellent quality - long and stout enough to do its job properly, and a very good fit to the hole.  It slotted into place easily and then a satisfying little "thunk" as it went down deep.  It will keep him very securely upright.

In short, he will make a superb addition to my various ceratopsian models.  Perhaps I should also say that although the cut-off date for ordering was given as the end of March, Muxi has finished models going spare, so it's still possible to order.  My grateful thanks to acro-man for making this new acquisition possible and a pleasant and easy process.

Here's some snaps:

The paint job is very careful - for instance, I like the balance of the touch of blue on the tail to pick up the blue on his shield:

Albertosaurus

Just received ine yesterday and WOW. The model is fantastic, the paintjob is perfect and the wooden base is a very nice touch. Box was really sturdy, perfect for protecting the statue. A bit smaller than what I was expecting, but an amazing piece overall!! I will buy whatever Muxi does next! I really hope he keeps making ceratopsians! Thanks acro-man for letting us know about this artist.
