I think the baleen squid are not that implausible. I think they should keep them. Look at the filter feeders alive today. Baleen whales and whale sharks are filter feeders. They can coexist on the same stuff, so having Bonnerichthys and Baleen Squid is quite plausible.

I may not like feathered dinosaurs and stumpy legged Spinosaurs, but I will keep those opinions to myself, I will not start a debate over it, I promise. 😇

They also have filter-feeding elasmosaurs and sharks. I don't think that many groups of large filter-feeders could exist at the same time.

Baleen...squid? ???
Here's one

They were supposed to be like the whales of the original Spec.

Wow, odd looking little thing. Half whale, half manta.

So, the fins on a squids body enlarge, it's arms shrink and become more numerous, and the hood becomes a protective shield?

Exactly, and believe me, that's is one of the least weird ones.

I know, I tried to get them to redesign it but as I said they get quite annoyed when people try to alter the original ideas.

Good call, although it's the posts with photos that most of us find annoying more than anything else. Still, those nested replies were starting to get lengthy.

I think that if there was a filter feeding squid, it's suckers would have become tufts of filaments, and it's largest pair of arms would have enlarged "teeth" on the "hands" . The squid would glide up behind a mass of food, spread its arms and use a "jet boost" to ram though the mass. Then it would rake off the food with the "teeth" and put the food covered "hand" in the mouth to eat. (Kind of like the cryptile from the future is wild, mixed with feeding traits of anemones.)

I actually did something like that, it is on the previous page (the spider-trap ammonite).
