KING KONG SKULL ISLAND---tv series underway based on the original 1933 movie and unrelated to the movie KONG: SKULL ISLAND. The tv series will focus on "a female-led, multi-cultural ensemble that delves fully into the wonders and horrors of Skull Island and its origins."

Probably, this Kong is based in Joe DeVito version.

Could be. You know what that would mean?

GAW!

There is also a current comic series set in the same universe, and it does have a female lead.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

I was always much more interested in Skull Island than the monkey anyway.

Kongs are an invasive species, brought there by humans, anyways.

Can somebody explain the meaning of this?

CityRaptor

It means that it is based on the book "Kong: King of Skull Island"
Basically in this version the Kongs are originally from another island, along with two groups of people.
Kong is the the last of his kind and only came to be worshipped as a god after he killed Gaw, who was previously worshipped as a god and who also killed his parents.

Intentional terminology was intentional. "The monkey" is a phrase used in some Kong movies to refer to the gargantuan simian in 1930s parlance.

Welcome to modern cladistics, leave any preconceptions at the door because birds are reptiles, whales are even-toed ungulates, and everything with a backbone is a fish.
